Here's a nifty trick used by almost ALL false teachers. Ignore the clear teaching of the Bible and build a straw man argument based upon a distorted view of the evidence (in this case via suppression of clear Biblical data). Then beat up on the straw man that you've constructed (that shouldn't be because hard straw men don't fight back). Once the straw man is good and dead then assert your own position as if it were the truth.
That's precisely what's happening in this video put out by the "New Covenant Group" that claims there is no hell. Pay REAL CLOSE attention to the fact that NONE of the passages where Jesus teaches the doctrines of God's wrath and eternal punishment are discussed. Instead, there is only an appeal to an artificially constructed Jesus that was built using only partial data and warped human reasoning.
“Then [Jesus] will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:41–46)
The voice in this video claims to be Jesus Christ himself.
The REAL Jesus, the Biblical Jesus warned us that this would happen.
Luke 21:8 And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.
Bruce Wilkinson, author of the run away heretical fad book, The Prayer of Jabez, is set to fleece God's sheep again in September with the release of another book entitled, "You Were Born for This: Seven Keys to a Life of Predicable Miracles".
Father David Buckley unveiled the £35,000 seven-foot high bronze statue at the Our Lady Immaculate and St Philip Neri Catholic church in Uckfield.
Cornish's sculpture was funded by money left by Winifred Gregory, 87, a member of the congregation who passed away last year.
Christ is wearing jeans and a shirt billowing in the wind while his hair and beard are neatly and fashionably trimmed.
Father Buckley said: "You are always looking for new ways to enrich people in the experience of Christianity and it is good people can be open-minded to appreciate it.
Obama worship gets creepier by the day. Here is an artist's simulation of Obama's triumphal entry. According to the official website for this event:
The simulation took place on January 19, 2009, one day before the inauguration of President Obama, in Des Moines, Iowa, where His meteoric rise began. While onlookers waived palm branches, a motorcade consisiting of 4 black SUVs, the sculpture affixed to a donkey, and secret service agents made the the mile long triumphal entry which ended at the steps of the State of Iowa Capitol building.
In a new YouTube video produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions, dozens of celebrities – television and movie actors, sports heroes, musicians and more – describe how they will pledge to "be the change" and "be a servant to our president."
Throughout the video, the celebrities pledge to support local food banks, to smile more, to be better parents, to work with the charity UNICEF, to "never give anyone the finger when I'm driving again," to help find a cure for Alzheimer's, to meet neighbors, to use less plastic, to plant 500 trees, to "be more green," to turn the lights off and to "free 1 million people from slavery in the next five years," among dozens of other pledges.
The purpose of all this pledging is summed up in the video's grand finale.
Actors Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher begin the closing scene by saying, "I pledge to be a servant to our president and all mankind."
Forget politics and political parties for a moment and think Biblically. Regardless of what one may think of Obama's plans and ideas for the U.S. there is something about his campaign that should make every Christian stop and take sober notice. That 'something' is the undeniable fact that Obama is being portrayed as a messianic leader and a 'god king'.
Folks, we've got a serious problem here. It's one thing when a charismatic leader is running for political office. It is a completly different thing when someone has messianic delusions and his followers and the media portray him as 'a god'. That type of behavior crosses the line from politics into idolatry and human history has shown that 'god kings' are very very dangerous people.
Here are some examples for you to consider regarding Obama the messiah, with a promise of more examples in the days ahead.
A Bona Fide false Christ has set up shop in Siberia. The end is getting nearer and so many purpose-driven and seeker-sensitive churches are too busy entertaining people in the name of being relevant and drawing a crowd rather than teaching them God's word. In other words, they are not preparing their members to know the difference between a false Christ and the true Jesus.
This false Christ is just a 'plain and ordinary false Christ' because he doesn't perform signs nor wonders. Jesus warned about guys like this.
Matt. 24:3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.
But Jesus also warned that another type of false Christ would arise in the last days. The false Christ's that are coming will be able to perform signs and wonders. The church is woefully unprepared for this coming deception.
Matthew 24:4 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
