The mission of the church is to disciple the nations (Matt 28:16-19) NOT entertain them while sending them off on a spiritual snipe hunt for spiritual principles in popular movies.
Here's what pastors are commanded by God the Holy Spirit to do:
“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” (2 Timothy 4:1–4)
Although, the Museum of Idolatry is an equal heresy reporting service, Tommy Sparger sent us a tweet expressing disappointment that his Father's Day video wasn't featured in the Museum.
sooooooo.....we've decided to post the video as a 'bonus exhibit'!
BTW, Tommy, LOVE the wig! But, you look like you're trying to pass a kidney stone.
Update June 22nd: Since posting this exhibit we've learned that Tommy Sparger and the folks at North Point reworked the lyrics for the song America F*** Yeah in order to make this video. You can listen to the original song by clicking here Warning: Don't Click that link if you don't want to hear the f-bomb repeated about 50 times!!
Apparently Rick Warren hasn't learned that the scarlet thread of redemption that runs through all of scripture is about Jesus Christ, oh and it was Jesus that taught us this.
“And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:25–27)
“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.” (John 5:39–40)
The Apostle Paul, also understood that all of scripture is about Christ and the Cross. Here's what Paul wrote:
“For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)
We also find it very telling that Rick Warren has publicly critiqued those faithful pastors who preach Christ and the Cross from every passage of scripture but he hasn't said ONE WORD in criticism of his disciples like Steven Furtick, Perry Noble and others who, Sunday after Sunday, read THEMSELVES into every passage of scripture, including the Gospels. Click Here to hear an egregious example of this from the Code Orange Revival.
After listening to that "revival sermon" read this: “we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5)

With the return of warm weather, longer days, and summer vacations has come the return of Movie Preaching 'season' in Seeker-Driven "churches". Here's one of the first movie sermon preview trailers of the new season. Grab some popcorn and enjoy.
Apparently, "pastor" Miles McPherson believes we all have a lot that we could learn from an unrepentant porn king.
"He's not a Christian, he's living a sinful life in people's eyes and his lifestyle is contrary to the Bible but still, we're obligated to love him," said McPherson. Despite all of these things that Biblically prohibit Ron Jeremy from speaking in Church, McPhereson invited him anyway so that he can "share" some things this Sunday, during church. The rest of the story can be read here.
Do you hate that old time, historic Chrisitanity? No problem! Apparently individual congregations can just invent their own "Christianities" as they see fit. Case and point: Ivyland New Church doesn't like how the historic Christian faith has always been in agreement with what God has revealed in scripture regarding the fact that those who've been brought to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins will spend eternity with Christ while those who persist in sin and unbelief will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:14, 21:7-8), soooooo they just made up their own "Christianity". The sign speaks for itself.
