If you're trying really really really really hard to build a mega church then you've got to tap into the marketing power of sex. A great way to do that is to combine the topic of Sex and Easter just like Judah Smith did this Easter.
It's difficult to be a Purpose-Driven "pastor". For instance, that job requires you to make really difficult decisions such as "which historical event will you preach about on Easter Sunday"? That decision becomes further complicated by the fact that the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic conflicted with Easter this year.
Sooooooo, Lawrence Neisent of Destiny Christian Center, made the tough call and decided that the Titanic was more important to preach about on Easter sunday than Jesus and his bodily resurrection from the grave.
***The Last Word*** If you'd like to hear this sermon, it was featured on the Fighting for the Faith radio program and it is the fourth entry in this year's Worst Easter Sermon of 2012 contest. Click Here to listen.
A man rising from the dead...that's boring. But, when you add a Fire Breathing circus act to the Easter story you've got a rockin relevant Easter. Thanks to That Church for rescuing Easter from irrelevance.
Okay, so we're not exactly sure how to classify this performance. We think that this may be the 'Sacrificial Virgin Dance' portion of the Easter service at Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene in Beavercreek, Ohio. However, we're not 100% certain of that. Our first thought was that they had hired a local stripper to help make the church relevant, but the stripper pole was missing sooooo we had to come up with another theory. Take a look, maybe you can come up with a better theory as to why this was part of an Easter Service. One thing is certain, this has nothing to do with Christianity or Christ's resurrection.
Makes you wonder how Christianity survived until now, that is without the help of the Batman story.
Thanks to Church on the Rock for their efforts to save the story Jesus' bodily resurrection from the grave. It was obviously too boring by itself and need to be rescued by the heroic and entertaining efforts of the Dark Knight.
