This is Messed Up

There are many things wrong with event that this video records.

1. Notice that Dutch Sheets is NOT opening the word of God and preaching from the scriptures. Instead, he is preaching on a supposed dream that he had. When did dreams get promoted to 'scriptural' status? Why should we believe that the "jesus" in Dutch's dreams is the real Jesus?" (we can't think of any reasons).

2. Then Rick Pino breaks out into a rousing rendition of 'Mess Us Up In Your Presence Oh God". (see if you can spot the golden calf)

i have seriously never loved a blog so much as this one!

Shut us up-shut us up in Your presence, O God!
Shut us up-shut us up in Your presence, O God!

I posted about this a few days ago. Here are some more interesting details!

Rick Pino about Angel of Awakening CD released May 2007.

"In late October 2006 I was visited by the angel of Zechariah chapter 4. In this encounter, the Lord used this messenger to speak to me about how He was going to be releasing this mighty angel to blow the trumpet of awakening in the earth the following year. 'Angel of Awakening' is part of that emerging sound of awakening! A sound of bones rattling in the desert! This studio project is a compilation of songs that I have received from the Lord, and songs that the Lord poured out spontaneously in the sessions. As you listen, I pray that you would be awakened to love again, to life again, and to your destiny in Him as sons and daughters."

Rick Pino is also the scheduled "Worship" Leader for Todd Bentley in September!

Sep 26/08-Sep 26/08
Abiding Glory Conference
Speakers: Todd Bentley, John Paul Jackson, Ryan Wyatt,
Worship by: Rick Pino,
Knoxville, TN, USA

That was disturbing.

It makes me sad when I see leaders claiming to have dreams and visions of Jesus, angels, etc . . .

When Jesus left this earth, He said He had to leave, so that something so much better, the Holy Spirit, could come and dwell in the hearts of believers.

All believers have the Holy Spirit right there with them, as close to them as possible. Why do we forget about the Holy Spirit? Why are we crying out to see angels, dreams, some kind of miraculous sign, when we have the best thing possible right with us?

I'm not saying that God won't send angels and dreams and visions anymore, and maybe He will to a lot of people. BUT that should not be our main focus.

God is so much closer to us than in just a fleeting dream.

Well! He's more concerned about the unsaved than the King of Glory and not only that! He's the one person who's seen the Holy One and not passed smooth out! I mean really - what's up with those spineless wonders Ezekiel, Isaiah, John, and Paul?

Where was the golden calf? Was it that "round thing" behind the band on stage?

I think he has committed the same sin as Adam and Eve. They were given perfection. It wasn't enough.

In the same way, God has invited us to greatest party of all time--a perfect party. It is called the Lord's Supper. Isn't that enough?

Gag a maggot off a gut wagon. Have these people no brains nor ANY spiritual discernment? Mindless, repetitive none sense - pleasing the father of deception rather than the Father of light.

Kinda looks like Kondalini doesn't it?

I'm really hoping that that's not the actual title of a song.

I have to wonder if Rick Pino told them to drink the kool aid, would they?

Hmmmm... What does that mean, "Mess us up in your presence, Oh God"? Is this glorifying God?

Don, you have it exactly right. It DOES look like Kundalini.

So, so sad.

Having just watched the two DVDs that came in the mail today: "Pilgrim's Progress: Journey to Heaven" and CrossTV's "What Manner of Love is This?" with a friend, and having just seen that friend off, I come to this site to catch an update.

I got to 2:31 and had to stop it. It ... I just can't watch it. It just hurts too much to watch that. Breaks the heart, grieves the Spirit (or spirit, or both)...horrendous. Take me back to the foot of the Cross anytime. Please.

I have watched the posted videos. I feel evil when I listen to them. Think about the beat of the music & they way they keep repeating phrases over & over & over. This reminds me of cult chanting. I think this is very dangerous!

I'm definitely messed up after that video by I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Lord's doing.

There is quite a similarity to this and the Isrealites in the desert.

'When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, "Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him." So Aaron said to them, "Take off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me." So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!" When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made proclamation and said, "Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD." And they rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.' ~ Exodus 32:1-6

Key:
Moses-Jesus
Aaron-Dutch
golden calf-dream Jesus
feast-'party'
play-dance frenzy

Our church recently completed a 3 part series called 'lower case gods'. It's very easy for us to think we are bringing something in to help us worship God but instead we are merely worshiping idols.

Wow. Reminds me of Way of the Master Radio, when they were talking about Bentley and how so much of what happens is basically just hypnotism. The energetic music, repetitive music and lyrics, emotional expectations... it's a working formula. And sadly, so many people believe that THIS is a work of God. Nevermind that it's nowhere in Scripture (at least not when it comes to worshiping the TRUE God).

i am so afraid to see where it will go from here.
as i watched this, i thought to myself "could it possibly get any worse?" the answer, unfortunatly, is yes...
who is this "pastor" accountable to? wasn't there anyone to rebuke him for sharing this rediculous "dream" from the pulpit as though it were some infallible word from God?
coming from a charismatic backgroung i am so glad i was never filmed doing stupid things in the name of the Lord...
you know some of those young people will come to truly know the living God, His wonderful truths and then see this video
and cringe.
i am praticularly upset also about the fact that, like a BAD commercial, i had a hard time getting that "chorus" out of my head last night! this also frightens me....

further proof that reading youtube comments is the #1 cause of aneurysms.

-Rick Pino is by far my hero! mess us up is a huge song!

-"Cut the cake?"
ha...Wow, I love that.
This video is great.
Do you see that? Their worshiping with all that they have all over the building! How awesome is that?!

-Rick Pino is so crazy, but I once heard someone say, "he's gotta stop acting so crazy, it's embarassing." But as crazy as it is, he is so sensetive to the Holy Spirit.

I live in the town where this event was held. It is held at a facility in Hamilton, AL called "The Ramp." I personally know some of the people seen in this video acting like they are five years old. Sadly, most of the Christians in this area view this place and these events with a sense of "well, I'd rather they be there doing this than out doing other things." I feel that is a valid argument as well, but it would be nice if more people like the one who runs this blog would work to find out what is really being taught there. Just wondering if you could tell us all where the golden calf was. If you want to direct complaints about what is going on at The Ramp, it is supported by an organization called Karen Wheaton Ministries. She is in the video and is the older lady (I wonder if she has read the scripture that explains to the old ladies how to train the younger ones) on stage dressed in black and shown two or three times.

Uh...I was already "messed up" for 32 years before Jesus Christ came into my life and changed me forever.

Anyone who has been brought out of darkness into God's glorious Light is not going to be asking God to "mess them up".

While I am not against celebrating the Lord and even dancing in His presence, it should always be done with reverence and with the desire to magnify the Lord. I didn't see either in the video. What I saw was a secular concert with the word "God" thrown in here and there.

Seriously..."Put your hands in the ay-er, wave 'em like you really don't cay-er"...what in the world does that have to do with God? What, exactly, am I not supposed to be caring about?

This was yet another tragic display of worship, but not to God. I can't seem to think that this was worship at all, but more like a rave party and then I saw Karen Wheaton in the video! She has sung some songs that have been pretty biblical, but to see her at this event and to utter, "Mess us up..." left me in surprise. Then I was able to connect the kids dancing and her.

It's just sad to see these people, who think they are worshipping God but aren't.

"He [Jesus] answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.'" Mark 7:6

I'm not sure if it's because this is so terrible or if it's because I'm pregnant, but I wanted to cry when I watched this video :o(
God's infinite glory is being sold for a 2 cent chant that makes fools of all these people being supposedly "led" by God.

I think the only thing Mr. Sheets got was a sore throat, so those poor young people wouldn't unserstand what he was saying. I'm looking forward to a whole lot more than a cakefight when the Lord meets us in the clouds. I wonder if Dutch's feet can find the floor, when he gets up in the morning?

"grab your partner, doh-see-doh', don't be shy, just let it go" - edifying much? All very sickening, watching them dance around the 'golden calf'.

And "put your hands in the ay-er, wave 'em like you just don't cay-er" - where have I heard that line before? I DO care, Lord Jesus!!

The golden calf is in creating or worshipping God as you see fit. Those who created a false god (Exodus 32) were killed as were Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10). Please note that one group was just the 'average joe/jane', and the brothers, Nadab and Abihu were Levitical Priests.

Though I'm not sure what the Kundalini stuff is...something with a serpent and yoga? What I do know is that too many christians are biblically uneducated. They do not read, let alone study the Word of God. Anyone who has read the OT would know that you do not:

* use secular music to worship God (i.e. switching the word 'baby' for JESUS, etc.)
* use any name for God that is not used in the Old/New Testaments of the Bible.
- So no, God's name is NOT Allah. They are not the same (b)Being.
* have anything to do with anything that He specifically forbade in the Old Testament once you've become a Christian (i.e. tattooing, piercing, tarot cards, palm reading, horoscope).

Personally, I am afraid for many of those who post on Christian blogs who do not understand why a stance is taken regarding any sundry of unbiblical antics. They think that the blog is 'picking on people' or 'unloving' or whatever. What I will say is this - The LORD our God told us how to approach Him. We may lie to ourselves, but we will not mock Him and get away with it. He says that He DOES NOT CHANGE. He says to be holy as He is HOLY. We are to walk in HIS paths, not ours. We are to live life according to His Word.

So, I don't know Karen Wheaton but she looks like a very pleasant person. I looked at her site but it was vague (which is a huge red flag), what her objective is. I would say that if the video that I saw here of The Ramp is an example of how she is on a mission "To awaken a generation out of spiritual death and religious complacency, calling them into their individual purpose and corporate responsibility as an offensive army imposing the Kingdom of God.", then someone needs to shut the Ramp down.

So, what is being taught? - that was the question. I've no clue but I can tell you what is not being taught:

* How to worship God Almighty ("But all things should be done decently and in order.")
* The penalty for not fearing God.
* The HOLINESS of God.
* The RIGHTEOUSNESS of God.
* The SOVEREIGNTY of God.
* The OMNISCIENCE of God.

If you have any these items wrong, it does not matter what you're being taught because you are worshipping a false god.

We have no one to blame for any of this except ourselves, I'm so sick of the Bentleys, the Hagins, Copelands,Osteen et all. Where were the watchman? Where were those who knew the truth sitting all these years through all this heretical unscriptural nonsense? Are we all guilty for this for not standing and contending for the faith? It just amazes me that people who call themselves by the name of Christ can listen to any of this swill. I hear many people asking the very same things I am, and the only answer is, people are not reading their bible, Sorry brethren but anyone who has been studying the word should have discernment to see right through this nonsense.I'm affraid what we have today are more Sunday morning popcorn cotton candy scripturalist devoid of any knowledge of the word through context and content. Stevie Wonder could see through this story time.I will rest on 2 Timothy 3:1/8. May our Good and merciful Good bring Grace, guidence and discernment upon our lost and misguided brethren, while they still have time to repent.Amen and Amen

This stuff is awful & i am what you guys would probably call a 'liberal' but the truth of the matter us that the more of this nonsense i see the more detached i get from wanting to engage with christians. MOst of them are a total disgrace to the name of Jesus, following this hyped rubbish like crazed lunatics ARRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

This is so sad it literally breaks my heart. To see young and vulnerable kids like this being fed LIES of spiritual 'visions' and then being musically hypnotized under the banner of "worship" into a frenzied state of uncontrollable hogwash, just plain hurts. It has to stop!

And please, pray tell, what is with these so-called "leaders" like Sheets and Bentley who have these "visions" of themselves in the presence of and in communication with the Lord in such light, lackadaisical, whimsical, off-the-cuff, meaningless, humanistic and, therefore, UNHOLY fashion??

I dare say if anyone could say they saw and talked with the Lord and lived to tell about it, they would not be able to find the words to describe their encounter, let alone in such casual manner.

If the likes of Pino, Sheets and Bentley are leaders, then they are leading these young kids on a the wide road that leads to destruction. Dangerous idol worshipping wolves is what they are.

We must pray! We must act! We must get the true gospel to these kids by whatever means and lead them up the narrow road that leads to TRUTH and eternal life!

Apparently God is just like your uncle Ted or Billy Bob. I was expecting Dutch Sheets to say, "and then God cracked open a cold one."

Exodus 32:17 And when Joshua heard the NOISE" of the people as they "Shouted, he said There is a 'noise of war in the camp and he said it is NOT the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear and it came to pass as soon as he came nigh the camp that he saw the calf, and the dancing, and Moses's ANGER" waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mount and he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and cast it upon the water, and made the children of Israel to drink of it. And Moses said unto Aaron What did these people do unto you, that YOU' have brought so great a sin upon them?
And please read the rest for yourselves. This video was so disturbing, and may God have mercy on Karen Wheaton, Lou Engles (who I'm sure I seen there also)Dutch Sheets, the Todd Bentley's and all those who are prolificating this garbage to the vulnerable. I thank God for every one who does have discernment and can see this business clearly. We must get alone with God and let Him show us how we must pray as so many innocent one's are getting awept up in thhis frenzy. It's really so sad and so hard to watch and come to grips with where we are in these last days before the coming of Our Lord but than again in 2 Thess 2: 2-3 Tells us that before Jesus comes again we will see the great falling away ann this all fits right in there.

My husband recognized Karen Wheaton and her group. They've been on TBN but did some quality skits and interpretive dance that were really Christ-honoring. Her involvement in this is a shame.

Her involvement with Benny Hinn crusades a decade ago was a shame. Guilty by association. How much false doctrine are people going to put up with? I do think a worship leader should be aware of what's being taught, since their presence is like a condoning nod to the speaker's doctrine.

I used to go to a charismatic church, which would do similar things like this.

I can't believe I fell for stuff like this before.

Praise be to Jesus for getting me of a heresy-filled church!

Raise your hands in the ay-yah,
Raise 'em like you just don't cay-yah...about sound doctrine.

Oh brother!

The reason churches are allowed to teach, preach, worship as they please is because there's no real spiritual authority at work. They've fallen asleep at the wheel and allow their flesh to "play church" The reason God allows it to happen is because of our free will, and that all scripture must be fulfilled until His return.

The same goes for all retail merchandise marketed to Christians. There are no checks and balances. It's a fire sale. Sell all you can to uneducated, gluttonous, seeds by the wayside Christians.

Amen.

I had the same vision... cakefight... and Shiva, and Bhudda, and Mohammed, and Santa, and the Army of Helaman were all there, and we were all just sort of rubbing cake on each other... and then Shiva gave me a birthday kiss and then we all went to the lollipop forest where the angel struck the ground with is staff to make a giant chocolate river filled with floating presents and then tiny sea monkeys floated around in the air singing "For he's a jolly good fellow."

Motblatt,
Your sarcasm makes a perfect point. :-)

OK, officially this has to be one of the most confusing things I have ever watched. We start with a Jesus who sounds more like a seeker-friendly/Emergent pastor at a kid's birthday party and then we have the idiot that is Rick Pino with another dopey song (We Have the Best Dad & You Spin Me Round aren't enough clearly...)

Thank God that we are slowly entering a 21st Century Underground Reformation where Bible believers are seeing through the nonsense!

Wow, yeah I agree with you guys,, Dutch Sheets and Rick Pino are crazy. Sad thing is that I went to Bible school with Rick Pino at Christ for the Nations in Dallas Texas and Rick used to not be so crazy. I even have played guitar with Rick before he got crazy. I even played guitar at CFN one time and to my astonishment Dutch Sheets was the speaker. He is soooooo crazy. Dutch is also a CFN Alumni. Rick Pino also sing spontaneous worship songs were he says that we need to "Poop our pants for God and let Him clean us up" because we are his children. Coocoo bananas

That was some sort of "Strange Fire," I tell you what! How does that even have the presence of Godliness or Holiness? And it's scary ... almost hypnotic in effect. This is what happens when people accumulate for themselves teachers who, "tickle their ears," instead of truly offering God worship in the way that He not only advised, but demanded we do so. You almost expect the earth to open and swallow these "worshipers" ... thankfully, we aren't living in Old Testament times.

Too much of a good thing thing can be a problem.
I see no problem seeing young people enjoying good music and dancing before God. Do we forget that David danced in a loin cloth? I'm not that game, but my spirit rejoiced when I saw these young Christians release themselves in celebration and fun.

God created us to live life, but not to drown ourselves in consumer-entertainment. Do we forget that Jews accused John for not fitting in with modern day conventions yet also accused Jesus of being a sluggard by being entertained at parties? I don't know this church, and I hope it's services aren't always like this constantly. But there are times where we can just have a celebration with God. Is that a sin?

I'm aware of pop-psychology and hypnotic-like methods to control people mass, but as long as this place encourages people to think soberly, I don't have a problem with it. If not, I'd be worried.

"Mess us up" aren't probably the best lyrics. "Free us up" maybe.

This could be the new Rick Roll, instead it'd be "You Just Got Rick Pino'd"

Mess us up...doesn't refer to mess us up in a bad way! I'd rather be messed up (according to the world) in a good way with God, than messed up on alcohol, messed up on drugs, messed up in adultry, messed up in gossip, messed up in lies...etc. I think you get the point. The, "Put your hands in the air.." is a bit odd, I'll give you people that much, but nothing is wrong with singing and dancing in the presense of God. Even King David did this. I'd rather see my kid singing and dancing in the presense of the Lord, than in a bar, drunk and on drugs and going home with some girl he met, doing God knows what. Before you judge by what you see in this very SMALL clip of a video, maybe you should get to know some of these people and see how they live their lives. There are always going to be a few bad apples in the bunch...but I can guarantee you that most of these people do their best to live a holy life.

give me a break! It is obvious that you have never heard dutch sheets preach or know anything about his ministry. Go to his website and download MANY of his sermons and be convicted!

this blog reads like a sour lemon sucking experience. I know the holiness AND outrageous joy of JESUS...they are compatible!
