Todd Bentley the Highly Inaccurate "Prophet"
The Lakeland Healing "Revival" is in full tilt BUT Todd Bentley is a false prophet. How do we know? We know this because the Bible is clear that a true Prophet of God is always 100% correct. God doesn't grade Prophets on the curve. Either God is speaking to you or He isn't. Here is the Biblical test of a prophet:
Deut. 18:21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the LORD has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
Below is a video that provides us with IRREFUTABLE proof that Bentley is a FALSE PROPHET. Pay close attention to how accurate his 'readings' are. Remember a true Prophet of the One True God MUST, according to the scriptures, be 100% accurate.
By the way, what is the Old Testament punishment for false prophets in the Kingdom of Israel? Here is what the scriptures say:
Deut. 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’
People need to heed the warnings of scripture.
Matt. 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Matt. 24:11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
Matt. 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
This is really bad. I don't even think he's at 50%. There's a sucker born every minute.

I have been in these types of meetings/events (I don't know what to call them...but God honoring it isn't). Typically they will pull scripture out of context to justify the actions and words. They will mis-apply covenants (i.e. God's covenant with the nation of Israel) and usually they will be generic enough in their "prophecies" that they can't be proven wrong. Typically if they are specific like this guy is they will say that the prophecy will come true on God's time. They will even justify their errors by saying that as a human they sometimes don't "hear" the voice of God properly. I even had one "pastor" tell me that if people got it about 80% right that was good enough.
I truly believe that this is the type of person that Jesus was referencing in Matthew 7:21-23 when he says that not everyone who call him Lord will enter Heaven.

Todd Bentley is not a prophet. He is an evangelist with a prophetic gift. His ministry is similar to Oral Roberts in that his calling is to the lost, but healing is a large part of his ministry. And like Oral Roberts, he hears God too. If Todd isn't hearing from God, then he should be dead according to Deuteronomy 18:20. Yet, his ministry has been thriving for almost a decade. And tens of thousands of people have been healed of their diseases and saved to the glory of God.
I know you mean to serve God with all your heart, just as Saul of Tarsus meant when he spoke and acted against things he didn't understand. He was one of the most educated men of his day. He thought that he knew almost everything about the Law. In time was saved and became one of the most prolific writers of the bible. He discovered that there was so much more to learn from his Master.
I love it when God uses the base things of life to confound the wise. God bless you dear friend.

Gary,
I think you've missed one small detail regarding the death penalty for false prophets. In the Kingdom of Israel a person who was found guilty of being a false prophet was sentenced to death by stoning. The people carried out the punishment. God didn't "strike them down".
And NO Todd Bentley does not have a prophetic 'gift' from God. If he did then he'd be 100% accurate because God does not stutter and God cannot lie. This video proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Todd DOES NOT hear God at all. Bentley is a charlatan, a false prophet and a false teacher. You would be wise to come out from his ranks and repent of these false beliefs while you still have time.

I don't believe Todd has the gift from God, but how then; is he slaying in the spirit?
Posted by: Adam Clark | May 08, 2008 at 04:49 PM
Adam,
There are two simple explanations.
1. Psychological suggestion.
2. Demons
Because of Todd's false teaching and documented proof that he is a false prophet there is absolutely no possibility that this from the Holy Spirit.

Funny how Bentley couldn't nail down the exact year the man was hit by lightning. Think about how this portrays God. Either God couldn't remember or He's picked a "prophet" who isn't a good enough listener to hear what God was saying. Vague statements like that should make people run away like the wind.
*shiver*

If all prophecy has to be 100% accurate then why does the NT demand that prophecy be weighed to discern the tue from the false. Furthermore if this is right then clearly Agabus should be discredited and denounced as a false prophet because he prophesied that Paul would be bound and betrayed by the Jews of Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans when in fact the Romans bound Paul in the process of saving Paul from the |Jews. What is more Paul would be guilty of ignoring prophecy as he dismissed those who "by the Holy Spirit" told Paul not to go to Jerusalem.

Is it just me or does he sound no different than the psychics on television who give vague answers and vague questions where eventually someone would say, "oh yeah, that's me!". Sadly, we see the multitudes of people who will flock to charlatans like this. This is all the more reasons why we need Christians to be bold in preaching the full Gospel message of Jesus Christ and be bold in warning others of false prophets. Maranatha! Maranatha!

Gary,
Are you saying that if people don't believe in this prophetic gift and the healings that they are not really following Christ? That they aren't saved?
This is what happened to Saul...Jesus saved him. He didn't start believing in healings and "gifts"
Posted by: Chaser | May 08, 2008 at 08:56 PM
(Sigh)...
What more can I say that has not already been said, and will not be repeated even while the anti-Christ stands in the open before our very eyes?
Pull yourself back and stop judging with what you see and hear. I mean simply, don't believe anyone just because they tell you something and show you a sign of it. Instead, be a wise judge (discerner) and use the Holy Book of GOD (the Holy Bible) to test these things you see and hear. Consult GOD (literally) and ask HIS Holy Spirit to make things clear to you.
I wouldn't be surprised if none of you who are defending this charlatan have prayed, when you are in his midst, for GOD to help you test the spirit and help you understand if what you are witnessing and hearing is really of HIM.
For you are not running to this man and his wickedness to seek GOD [If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also (John 12:26)]. You are instead seeking after miracles and signs and wonders and walking right up to the Devil [...he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going (John 12:35)].
Stop seeking after man.

So - demons could heal the people the way all the people coming to him are saying they have been healed?
Don't get me wrong - I believe he is false the way he portrays and what he is saying. I just want to learn why/what is happening.
Why God is letting it continue, haha.

John from the UK,
Agabus prophesied correctly.
Who killed Jesus? Was it the Romans or the Jews?
Here is what Jesus said:
Matt. 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.
But Jesus wasn't killed by the the elders, chief priests or the scribes. He was killed by the Romans. So did Jesus give an incorrect prophesy regarding the details of his own death?
NO. Of course not.
It was the actions of the elders, chief priests and scribes that led to Jesus' being handed over to the Romans to be killed by them FOR the Jews.
So Agabus was spot on. Paul was bound and was delivered to the Gentiles just as the Holy Spirit predicted.
If Paul had not been arrested but instead was able to hop on the next boat heading to the south of France then Agabus would have not prophesied accurately and we'd have to conclude he was a false prophet. You are straining at gnats in your efforts to defend Bentley. Bentley's 'prophecies' were factually incorrect in all details.
Also, your question about testing prophecies is just plain silly. The reason scripture tells us to test prophecies is precisely because 'many false prophets have gone out into the world'.
1John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Adam,
The answer to your question is found in scripture.
2Th. 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Chris,
Did he say "boom"...?
Is this about Jesus? Can't tell.
A friend recently reminded me of Rev. 19:10...For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
I am too embarrassed to watch this whole thing.
Thanks for your continuing work in the LORD.

A word from Jesus: "For false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect - if that were possible." (Matthew 24:24)
Jesus warned us himself of hucksters like Bentley. Ask God to help you discern the right from wrong here. Ask Him to reveal the truth to you. Your eyes are veiled. Your heart and mind have beeen deceived. Pray for the gift of repentance and turn away from this worker of iniquity.

Why are we spending so much effort on a charlatan like Bentley, when the church featured in yesterday--which unfortunately used a baiting and switching scheme with the marriage you have always wanted--believes in extra-biblical revelation, which they call prophecies? By the way, the "concerned group" at Trinity that got pushed out by the heavy handed pastor, believes in extrabiblical revelation. They have at least three "prophecies" up on their concerned site. Both sides personally involved in the Trinity, Omaha have some shortcomings biblically. The side that has appeared to have won is head deep in seeker methods, but the other side believes their "prophecies" have been squelched. People are more likely to embrace the "Spirit's" plan to bring revival to Omaha, but most will recognize Bentley is just a charlatan. I did not think too many that go from faith healer to faith healer stop by Little Leaven often. Featuring Bentley seems like preaching to the choir to me. I sense that most of the arguing for "prophecy" is more debating cessionism vs. continuation of the spectacular spiritual gifts. I don't see that Bentley has many friends here.

Todd Bentley is using cold reading techniques that "psychics" use. He asks leading, open ended questions and the people fill in the blanks for him. James Randi has an excellent book about this called "The Faith Healers."

An excerpt of the "8 gods" "Prophecy" on the Concerned Members of Trinity Site at http://www.concernedmembersoftrinityomaha.com/archive/documents/prophecy_8gods.txt :
"This city has been called to be a light to the nations. The name of this city will be known throughout the world. A decision will be made here that will affect the entire earth.
The churches of this city are in crisis. The leaders of most churches do not hear my voice. The real measure of a man is what lies within his heart, not what he possesses. My people have erected the god of avarice in my own house. The knees of my people bow to the god of man’s attention and attraction. There are eight gods (high places) worshipped in the place called Trinity. Some were there from the very beginning…some recently embraced…
all are hated by Me. Idols are the gods that rule a man’s heart, intentions, and affections. A man serves what he acknowledges and lives out."
There was much more to consider yesterday in the Trinity situation than just the seeker marketing for the Marriage series. Both seeker methodology and extra-biblical revelations, but you could easily argue extra-biblical musings are worse. Omaha called a light to the nations? The church and believers are to be the light of the world (Matt. 5:14). Either the prophecy of the concern former Trinity member is wrong or the Bible is? I am sticking with the Bible. Again, I ask the whipping or worrying about Bentley, when the extra-biblical prophesying of former Trinity members was ignored, missed, or intentially looked passed to score a few points against "purpose-driven madness." Again, I do not see defenders of Bentley showing up here. I see the debate to be from those who question cessationism.

Adam,
Yes, demons can heal people. You ought to read a book by Johanna Michaelson, The Beautiful Side of Evil. (Can probably still find an old copy on Amazon Used Marketplace.) She was heavily into the New Age and she attended/witnessed many miraculous healings -not done by the Lord, but by those involved in devil worship. Satan can conterteit tongues, too, as she attests in her book. Reading that book really opened my eyes and put me on the path of discerning the true from the false. Johanna finally got saved and came out of that stuff, but it was very hard as the demons did not want to let her go. Why does God allow it? Probably to test us. God can use anything for His purposes -even the enemy's attacks and false works. He has given us His Word as our guide. We must weigh everything against it and make sure it is truly of the Holy Spirit.

Adam,
Another section of scripture to answer your previous question of why people are being healed and why/what may be happening is found in Deut. 13:1-5,
"1 If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, AND if he says, 'Let us go after other gods,' which you have not known, 'and let us serve them,' 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey HIS voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him.
According to verse 2, if these things come to pass (i.e., people are healed), then our next course of action is to pay attention to what this person says/teaches/calls us to (i.e., "AND if he says, 'Let us go after other gods,' which you have not known, 'and let us serve them'). Because "...the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul." and to have us "walk after the LORD...and obey HIS voice."
From Todd's teachings so far, he seems to be calling people to pray to see into the supernatural realm, and he calls on “intercessory angels” to be let loose. His angel teachings are enough to raise a flag and cause us to look closely at verse 2(Todd's teaching about "intercessory angels" only rob Christ of HIS glory because HE is our only mediator and forever lives to intercede for us).
I'll leave it at that because I'm not too experienced in expounding on what Scripture says, but God's warning seems pretty clear to me. And I thought I'd share it. Someone please correct me if I'm off the mark here. I want to make sure I don't add to the confusion :)
God bless and keep seeking the truth.

Before I was saved, I called a psychic hotline (don't laugh *blush*). The guy on the other end sounded very much like this guy does, asking questions rather than simply proclaiming what God's told him. Now that I think about it, that psychic was probably about as right as this guy is :)

Chris,
Thank you for the scripture. I haven't done a lot of reading in Thes. and I think I might just have to!
Rose,
I looked up the book that you mentioned and I think I will be picking it up! Thank you for suggesting it.
Sheldon,
I also noticed that about his "teachings" on the angels. What specifically put up a red flag for me was something he said about Guardian Angels. I recently did some biblical ... research you could call it, and God does place angels around us to protect us, but he doesn't place a single "Guardian Angel." His prophesying just seems so off the wall... Thank you for sharing those scriptures and helping me!

I'm going to be honest, guys. I worked this fellow's book table for a few years at conferences, and got to know his whole posse (Patricia King, John Paul Jackson, Rick Joyner, etc.). It is never wrong to warn ANYONE ANYWHERE of a rat. You never know who is stumbling across your site, and God drew my husband and I away from the charismatic group I had been raised in my whole life after finding Jan Markell's 'Understanding the Times' site. I never knew anything else, but through the scriptures and the simple prayer "LORD, reveal your truth please" God was faithful. It saddens me to see all the young people I taught Sunday school to at my old Vineyard church still taking trips out to their mecca Kansas City to get "words" from their favorite prophets, but maybe if they see a warning on this site or Slice, or somewhere, they might just listen. This group are nothing but trouble, and after watching my mother die because she had all the faith that God would heal her of breast cancer, I cannot give a more desperate plea, "don't defend these baddies!!" Nobody! Just don't do it! They are deceiving and being deceived, period. You can find out their heart to judge it just by looking at their bank statements, or, if you're lucky as me, you can see first hand how much money the make per session on tapes and books.
PS. My mother did receive healing- the ultimate healing of being with her Lord. Although she was deceived for her last few decades, she did still have a basic understanding of the gospel of repentance, and I believe (hope, really) that I'll see her again.

Excellent. A friend asked me to look into Todd Bentley a couple of weeks ago because her mother-in-law really wanted her to chech him out. My friend was concerned because her MIL was a part of the whole Toronto Airport 'Church' and her FIL had asked her to pray for a gold tooth during that era.
I had never heard of Todd Bentley but went to watch some of his videos like this one and was very concerned. What really scared me was his own writing about all of the differnt 'angels' he has encountered, the one he has seen over 30 times in one year, and the one that people see following him at his 'healings'. Scary. Needless to say, I told her to stay away from the False prophet.
GREAT verse Sheldon!

Deborah,
Thank you for your candor. I was a Roman Catholic years ago before I became a Christian. In my latter years of practice I was fully immersed in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. What a mixed up bag of cookies that was!
For no other reason than by God's immeasureable grace He yanked me out of the madness and into the rock solid truth, security, peace and comfort of His salvation through Jesus.
I praise God for rescuing me. I praise God with you for rescuing you. I pray that the millions more, who are earnestly "seeking God" at the wrong gate, (like that of Bentley's) will be saved from these monsters and, like us, brought into truth, repentance and faith in Christ, and Christ alone.

Here's my question - How can documented miracles & hundreds of salvations be taking place regularly in Lakeland through Todd Bentley, and He be a false prophet? Todd has not once claimed any of this glory for himself, but has only commanded that Jesus be worshipped.
John 3:2 "This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, 'Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.'”
That is how the Jews were taught to recognize if someone was from God: whether or not they performed signs and wonders. It is the historical pattern in Scripture of the men that God used. God was with them, and that's how the miracles took place.
Luke 11:20 "But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you."
Interesting, isn't it. I guess if Todd was a false prophet, it looks like the Lord wiped his slate clean, and gave him another chance.

Todd Bentley's arms and neck and plastered with tattoos. I would imagine elsewhere under his shirt. (Not that I really want to go there.) If tattoos are supposed to say something about the person, I wonder what we would find inscribed on his skin to tell us more about him. (Not that I really want to see.)Just curious. (Ick!)

I have been studying the last few days on this revival and I have to tell you that when I looked at his picture, it gave me the creeps. I found out that he has been in jail several years back for molesting a young boy. What greatly bothers me is now he has flown paul cain out there to preach, and this man has yet to make him self right with the leaders that he confessed his homosexuality and alcoholism too. From what I can discern and tell right now is that there is no genuine move of the Lord and no genuine repentance, and I question now the validity of his ministry. I don' believe either one of these men, paul cain or todd bentley should be allowed to preach under any circumstances. There should be an investigation done right away. What concerns me is that I don't see any of these men or any tv evangelists going to the hospitals praying for the sick and they getting well, I haven't seen it one time. And if these men are genuine they would prove themselves first and stay under proper guidance and do other ministries other than preaching.

I do have a question, isn't there a warning about this generation seeking after a sign? And signs and wonders does not validate a ministry. Neither does healings. Can someone explain further about this? I have to tell you I feel an extreme warning on this one. I pray many will take heed this warning. Thank you and God bless

Luke 9:49-50 "Master", said John "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us." "DO NOT STOP HIM." Jesus said, "FOR WHOEVER IS NOT AGAINST YOU IS FOR YOU." How do you guys negate that scripture? A true prophet of God is still human and makes mistakes. These mistakes force him(the prophet) to be totally dependant on God. God allows prophets to make mistakes. This keeps them humble. If you were right on all the time people would start worshiping you and you might get a big head. I think the freeness that exist in these meeting allows the Holy Spirit to move in lives, but I also think that there are lots of HUMANS present. These humans can and do act in the flesh. Including Mr. Bentley. But I also believe that God rewards our freeness and openness to let Him flow. Do any of you guys believe in prophecy, tongues, healings, word of knowledges etc.? We must not throw the baby out with the bath water...<'}}}><

How easily some are deceived.
Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Posted by: Troy | May 09, 2008 at 03:43 PM
Josh,
Are you saying that every single time that anyone anywhere appears to have miraculous signs that this is proof they are from God? If so, how would you explain the power that is demonstrated by those that follow Satan (As referenced above by Rose)? There are faith healers in Hinduism and other new age groups who by all account perform miracles. Speaking in tongues is common among many groups.
The difference is in the genuineness of the gift to start with. Take demon possession for example. Jesus says rightly that only the power of God can exercise a demon. However could a demon not possess a person and then allow himself to be exercised to provide "proof"? They would easily be this deceptive. The power of God will truly exercise them, but Satan can still fake the whole thing.
The epistles are full of warnings of false teachers, false prophets and anti-christs. Our world is full of them. This man may genuinely think he is doing God's will; he may not be purposefully deceptive. However, he should have enough humility to realize that if he is incorrect in his prophecy he needs to repent.
I pray for men like this. The Bible speaks clearly that there are many levels of punishment in hell. It would be likely that someone who leads hundreds or thousands people away from God will feel the wrath of God more than anyone else. I pray he repents while he still can.
Jesus needed to establish Himself as the messiah, the Apostles needed to establish their authority to speak for God and capture their thoughts as scripture. This is not required now that we have the canon. The Bible is enough, it has everything you need.

Jenn:
Read again. I was not trying to base or judge the guy on his "LOOKS" at all. Nor was I trying to imply a stereotype to people who don tattoos. My point was that, for the most part, tattoos tell something of the people who wear them and I was just curious of the imagery and/or inscriptions he wears that would reveal a bit more of the kind of person he is. Just curious, that's all.

While you all continue to doubt and debate, night after night, small children to elderly men and women from all over the world are receiving opened ears, seeing eyes, diseases cured, the lame walk. Eventually, the evidence of GOD's compassion and demonstration of HIS healing power will become so great that you will find it harder and harder to believe that this is not of God and easier and easier to believe that it is and in the reality of his love, mercy, grace, compassion and His healing grace towards mankind.
What will it take, what must God the Father, his Son our Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit do to cause YOU to believe that what God is doing in Lakeland Florida and around the world is from God?

David,
You ask, "What will it take, what must God the Father, his Son our Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit do to cause YOU to believe that what God is doing in Lakeland Florida and around the world is from God?"
Good Question.
Three things come immediately to mind.
1. Bentley must first and foremost abandon and repent of his false doctrine.
2. Bentley must stop preaching about his alleged visions and direct revelations from angels and Jesus and instead PREACH ONLY from Gods' Word.
3. Rock Solid independent 3rd Party verification that all of the 'healings' did in fact take place and were real. I watched hours and hours of video of this so-called revival and I want undeniable medical proof that these healings are taking place. (But even if the miracles are verified, unless Bentley repents of his false doctrine that so clearly contradicts the scriptures, verified miracles will only prove that it is the Devil who is running the Lakeland Revival)

Thank you for your response and for posting a differten point of view ! However the question I asked you was what GOD must do not Todd Bentley. I now understand your concerns and your position that even if hundreds or even thousands of people all over the world are being healed of physical and mental infirmities, and there are verifications, (because obviously, mothers and fathers of the children who testify that Jesus Christ healed their child on worldwide television to known family and friends when they go back to their communities is not sufficient)it still must be of the DEVIL because of Todd Bentley. As I read of the miracles Jesus performed when he was on earth, I'm sure you would have also had real difficulity with our Lord Jesus Christ healing the lame and the blind on the Sabbath as well.
But stay tuned, God is just getting started and you haven't seen anything yet !

David,
You would be wise to not put words into my mouth as I have the ability to ban you from my site and I am under no obligation to post your comments.
The problem isn't the miracles. The problem is Bentley's false doctrine and the fact that he's already irrefutably been shown to be a false prophet according the Biblical standard.
Bentley doesn't preach about the Jesus of the Bible, he preaches about the Jesus of his own 'visions'. Bentley doesn't open the scriptures he tells tall tales about seeing visions, seeing angels, being taken to heaven. Can such things happen. Sure they can. But because Bentley has been shown to be a false prophet and his teachings contradict the clear teachings of scripture we are not to listen to him or believe him. His teaching has been tested according to God's word and found wanting.
Comparing Bentley to Jesus is blaspheme on your part.
Bentley is no different than other pulpit pimps like Benny Hinn.

Amen Chris. For crying out loud, people. Bentley and his crew are notorious for punifying Jesus. He did His miracles to prove He fulfilled scriptures like Deut. 6 where Moses stated that one would come like him and the people should 'here ye Him'. The whole 'New Apostolic Reformation' crowd prattles on about us doing the things Christ did, but what not all of them are saying (although they believe it) is that we're little gods. Benny says it, Eddie Long says it, Creflo Dollar says it, but not Todd Bentley- yet. Sooner or later, however, someone whose been living in Kansas City and spending every day at IHOP (International House of Prayer)- like my sister- will tell you that we can do the things Christ did and more, because we're God's children, and this is what He's always had in mind for us. We'll be the 'Holiest of Holies' christians. Dudes, it's messed up.
And what would God do to prove something from Florida is Him moving on that area? To put all the false teachers to shame and repentance to fall on the city, county and the state. Crime would drop, jails would empty, and churches (you know, the expository, inerrant Word of God ones) would be packed every day. And salvation by grace through faith would be preached by every man of God; not a doctrine of the miraculous.

David - I have received a special anointing and calling from the Lord God Almighty. I have received a direct revelation from the Holy Spirit. In that revelation the Holy Spirit told me that Todd Bentley is a false prophet sent from Satan to deceive the nations.
The Holy Spirity says that you must Repent and Flee Bentley's Apostasy!

Brothers and Sisters:
Exercise righteous judgment on this person called T.Bentley
and via the Word of God and the inner witness of the Holy
Spirit, you will be able to discern that this man is not of
the Lord.
Do not be awed by purported healings and talks of visions and
angelic visitations. That is not our focus. Jesus is Lord and
He is to be preached and taught...not wonders and angelic
sighting and purported healings.
Even if there was an onsite crack medical team ready to examine
each purported healing, that fact does not validate this man
and his doctrine.
Examine doctrine and quit being caught up with the fleshy
appearances of signs and wonders.
Take the Word of God as a template and examine what this man
is saying and contrast it with the written word of God.
That is our objective standard. It never changes. Don't be lulled into a sense of complacency due to either large crowds
or the "wows" of the audience or the tears of those who profess
healings by this man's hand.
Yes, God is a healer. Yes tongues can be a sign but we do not
seek signs nor the manifestations of the Spirit of God. We seek
the Gift giver...not the gifts.
Discernment is the watchword. Be prayerful. Read the Word of
God and test all things. TEST!! TEST!! AND TEST SOME MORE.
Be good Bereans (Acts 17:11) and do not run to and fro after
signs and wonders and for excitement due to someone yelling
about Fire..or BAM...or angelic visitations.
God is not going to share His glory with any man, including
Todd Bentley nor is God going to validate any statements that
appears to sound good but fail to pass the Bible Test of
being of truth and glorifying God.
If this man is validating Paul Cain and the discredited Kansas
City Prophets and their nonsense and endorses Benny Hinn, that
should be enough for you to run for the nearest exit door.
We are seeing the return of Jannes and Jambre (those who opposed Moses) with their tricks and deceit and magic.
When will the Body of Christ learn that Satan has his army of
fakirs and demons who enjoy deceiving the gullible and trying
to have Christians lulled into the quagmire of doctrinal
softness of a Todd Bentley.
Saints of God, pull on the full armor and withstand the wiles
of the evil one!

I attended the meetings in Lakeland for 5 nights. While I cannot say that I believed in everything I saw, nor everything Todd says as 100% truth (or even 99%), I did see three astounding things:
1) Sitting in front of my wife and I was an 8 year old Eskimo girl. During worship, she suddenly jerked back, wincing astonishedly, grabbing her left ear. Her mother looked at her bewildered... The girl began to cry... Her mother began to cry. About a minute later, Todd says, "I see in my mind's eye that God is healing a little girl of a deaf left ear... You're not even 12 years old, and God has just put his finger in your ear, and now you can hear." My wife says to me, "Oh my, honey... That's the girl right in front of us." The girl went up to the platform. She was healed of a deaf left ear, and told of how God put His finger in her ear. Back in Oregon, my mom watched the streaming on God TV with her friend Molly from Alaska. Turns out, Molly knows that family, and has known of that little girls deaf left ear for a few years now... Small world.
2) At another meeting, three boys sat in front of my wife and I. They had HUGE Coke Bottle-type lensed glasses. They were all cross eyed, born with the same eyesight defect. During worship, the people around the boys (in the crowd) began praying for the boys to be healed. Their eyes went from crossed, to being straight--right in front of my wife and I. They could see nearly perfectly without their glasses. They were crying, praising God... Little boys, ages 8, 7, and 5. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life, witnessing God's healing power...
3) Even better... One night, Todd gave an alter call. Literally, hundreds of people were saved.
Charlatan or not? It didn't seem to matter. The people I saw came and prayed, worshiped, and were feverishly hungry for God. Todd is very peculiar...and obviously not perfect. I suppose none of us are, and that is probably besides the point. But what I witnessed was Jesus' healing hands on children...little children. And literally 3 feet in front of me, in real time, in real life. Whether or not Todd is right or wrong, Jesus responds the people's faith. And it was a beautiful thing to see His response right in front of my eyes...
Moderator, I know you don't like Todd. But please, for the sake of argument and perspective, please post this.

Gabriel- Beautiful site wasn't it? I hear many stories like that from this revival. What I like about your story was that Todds word of knowledge came after the boy was already healed. Also the faith of the crowd healed those cross eyed kids. Todd didn't even know what was going on at that time. Why would the devil work healings through Todd and then give glory to Jesus? Thanks for sharing that story Gabriel. Those people who were healed don't care about what the critics say about Todd or the revival. Their lives have been changed by the healing power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Praise God.......<'}}}><

Hello all.
What I'm about to say will no doubt offend a good many people here, but that's something I'm used to. If previous comments are any indication, it's likely that I will be labeled as a nonBiblical anything goes liberal theologian, and nothing can be farther from the truth. I'm the one who wrote Your Best Lie Now: The Gospel According to Joel Osteen. It's a very sharp critique of the preaching and dogma of the pastor of this country's largest church. I also, last August, took my soapbox and set up outside his church, preaching the true Gospel to the thousands who passed by after Joel's service. I am a huge stickler for correct doctrine.
That said, based on the video, I must say that you are wrong that it presents "IRREFUTABLE proof" or, in fact, any proof at all that this man is a false prophet. Can you show me something he predicted that did not happen, a la Pat Robertson? Can you show me something false he said? Maybe you can, but it's not in that video.
No, he is not as direct and detailed as the prophets of the Old Testament, which the verses in Deut governed. In those days, the Holy Spirit had not been given to all believers. It says in 1 Corinthians 13 that we prophesy in part. Just because he doesn't have the whole message(ie not knowing the exact year) does not make him a false prophet, but it could mean he is prophesying in part.
As far as those who said he should stop preaching about his visions, didn't the Prophet Joel say, and Jesus and the Apostle Peter reaffirm that in the last days young men would see visions, and that God's sons and daughters would prophesy?
When did we stop believing that a supernatural God did supernatural things? You remind me of the Pharisees, inside praying for the Messiah to come as Jesus rode by their temple on a donkey. You're so concerned with your image of what something should be that you miss what God is really doing.
Maybe Bentley needs to repent, but so do you.
His,
Adam Key

Adam,
If the Holy Spirit were speaking to Todd Bentley then he wouldn't have had to 'fish' for information. This is the same technique that so-called psychics use in their 'cold readings' and he clearly got his information wrong, again irrefutable proof that this man is not a prophet of the One True God.
As far as visions. I am not denying that God can and does give visions or that God can and does act supernaturally and miraculously. The problem here is that Bentley already fails the test as prophet (false prophecies and false doctrine) and then when he preaches about HIS visions and HIS private revelations the person he is really preaching about is HIMSELF and not Jesus Christ and Him Crucified for Our Sins.
As far as repentance is concerned. I have not sinned nor contradicted the scriptures by following the exact directions of scripture.
Mark 13:22 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. 23 But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.
1John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Eph. 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
