Holy, Hot Sex
Is Christianity being turned into a fertility cult?
The story of Elijah versus the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel is one of the best known stories of the Bible. What many people don't realize is that those who worshiped Baal were followers of a fertility cult.
With so many "Christian" churches taking their focus off of Jesus and the message of "Christ crucified for sins" and instead placing their focus on sex we wonder if Christianity hasn't been polluted by the false religious ideas of pagan fertility religions.
Here again is yet another website that focuses on 'godly sex'.
Here is how ABC news reacted to this site and its ideas.
"We discovered that God’s Word is holy and hot…filled with invaluable wisdom for our sexual relationship." --from their website
God's Word is hot???? I'm just not sure what to say to this....

Makes me want to gag. Our world in inundated with sex, so what does the church do? Join in, of course! We all know that as long as we put the Christian label on something, that makes it ok. God wants us to have fun, above all else. How long before we have Christian Cocaine? Condoms with Bible verses? Bleh!

I've not looked at this site yet, so maybe I shouldn't comment, but on the subject in general, yes, the world talks a great deal about sex. But their views are generally twisted and sin-tainted. God created sex, and gave us a commandment to go out and multiply (within a marriage, of course). So it is good. Yet most churches have spent so much time talking about sex in negative terms (as one put it...sex is bad, so save it for the one you love), that all people have been getting is negative from church and twisted from the world. It's long time we had some honest talk about sex in our churches.
Now, these folks may be overcompensating for that lack. But maybe it raises a question for us...how *should* we talk about sex in our churches, so we have a true, Biblical view, rather than the world's view, or a skittish "flesh is bad spirit is good" dualist view?

Guys (cause I'm sure you are), I have to say I'm disappointed that this website is even included on your site as "leaven". There's nothing on this part that shows this is linked with any "church", or the borderline unbiblical ways churches today might be presenting things.
After looking at this website marked above, I'd say it's ABOUT TIME that Godly women and men have a good, Biblical and Godly perspective on marital sex (which God created to be "good", by the way) I have known MANY women with a very skewed idea of sex either because of the world, or the "church". It looks like they might also minister to those who have not done it God's way in the past. I say bravo to them, and shame on you. This is NOT like the other stuff that has been crossing the line. You are just fueling the flame of people using sex like the world, or being afraid of it. Come on now...you can do better!

Kelly,
You are so silly, the first three posts are by women.
A post doesn't have to be about a particular church, anything related to Christianity is about the Church as a whole.
Anyone who feels they need help with their sexual relationship with their spouse either needs to seek private counseling or has a worldly tainted view on sexuality.
Sex in a marriage is an expression of their love, not the source of it like these programs so many times imply that it does.
