Relevant Life Issues? What are Those?
What is the purpose of Church? Is church a place where we learn about "Relevant Life Issues"? Or does the Bible instruct Christian pastors to teach something else?
Compare the messages of both of the men featured below. The first is Pastor Ken Squires and the second is the Apostle Paul. Then answer this question: "According to the scriptures, who got it right and who got it wrong?

If you're not sure who got it right, read the verses below.
Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
2Tim. 4:1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
1Tim. 4:13 devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.
Titus 1:9 He must whold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

I wonder if the "Relevant Life Issues" are sin, repentance, fruit of the Spirit, fellowship... Somehow I doubt it!
...not to mention the appalling misuse of the apostrophe in Pastor Ken Squires' message...

Strange. The guy in the bottom-left corner images is the same guy in another christian "conference brochure".

Ok heres the thing I think your just twisting the words a little too much here. you can't minister to people who know nothing but the world if you aren't aware what the world is dealing with. I mean seriously do you think that it's such a terrible thing to take things that real people and possibly even real christians are dealing with (homosexuality, pornography, lying, stealing, adultery, they all seem to be things that are catching the headlines these days.) and incorporate it with the bible. Alot of those things stated above seem to be pretty relevant issues to me I don't see why it would be such a terrible thing to preach about it.
