Christian Sex Magazine to Hit Newsstands Next Month
Yes, you read that headline correctly. We simply cannot make this stuff up. According to the Religion News Blog:
Demand for an Afrikaans sex magazine that targets married, Christian women and shatters prissy Calvinistic stereotypes has increased so much that an English version will hit the shelves next month. The launch edition of Intimacy - which features lap-dancing, submission and a tricky question about parental sex on the cover - follows a 300 percent growth in demand for Intiem magazine, which was launched in 2006.
“We strive to empower Christian women not to feel guilty for enjoying this God-given pleasure which is sex, but rather to embrace it,” said managing editor Liezel van der Merwe. Writing on sex from a Christian perspective had been a difficult challenge, with sex and religion both highly sensitive topics and few guidelines in the Bible, said Van der Merwe

It won't be complete without graphic photographs, illustrations, and examples to make sure that the reader understands clearly what is being said. And it will be ok, because the people in the photographs will be married. Not filth like Hustler or other dirty magazines...
Ok, that might not be quite as far as this magazine is going, but since we made it this far, why not go all the way. (sorry for the pun)
Between this, the sex sermons, and the other tawdry things promoted in churches these days, how much longer will it be before the church takes the final steps to becoming a complete pagan temple with temple prostitutes, orgies and such. Not long at the rate it is going...

How it must grive the Lord to see people sinning & saying they are doing it in his name. We are not to be like the world. God is Holy & calls his people to be holy. We need a revial! A call back to the Bible & to the Lord!

"Few guidelines in the Bible"? Which Bible are they reading?
Or did God make a mistake in not including a graphic sex manual among the Holy Scriptures?

"We believe that if a sex act stays within a marriage, is shared by only husband and wife, and both of them are comfortable with and enthusiastic about doing whatever they are doing, it can only be beneficial to the marriage."
Once it's in a magazine, I don't know if you can really say it's only being shared by the husband and wife.
Also, "prissy Calvinistic stereotypes"? I wasn't aware that predestination concerned sex.

I translate the headings on the magazine image
Intiem Intimate (A word often used in Afrikaans to mean 'sex' rather than 'intimate')
Is jy 'n statige kat 'n oerwoud tier of albei?
Are you a stately cat a jungle tiger or both?
Jou eerste aand as man en vrou.
Your first night as man and wife (woman).
Vir hom: Seks begin met saamspeel.
For him: Sex starts with playing together.
Ontkleedans ons wys jou stap vir stap.
Stripdance we show you step by step.
Mag jy flirt?
Direct translation May you flirt? A better translation is to say May I flirt?

Thank you, Nico. That was very...enlightening.
So basically, this is pretty much just Cosmopolitan.

I've *never* met a "prissy Calvinist."

"Experience a love based on who you are, not what you do!"
Christ said, "If you love Me, you will obey My commandments." Seems obvious that it is a love relationship verified or authenticated and developed by being obedient to Christ's commands.
Churches are filled with "who you are" pew warmers, many who are still lost in their sins. Where are the "what you do" followers who demonstrate through obedience their love to the Lord? They are few.
Remember, you shall know them by their "verifiable" fruits, not their "unverifiable" claims to "who they are."

That's ridiculous! That makes me mad. I went to their site and it might as well be pornography!
