Marijuana Ministers?

Here's a news story about a minister and his wife who were arrested after they grew a 28 pound marijuana plant in their backyard. They named it the Tree of Life and claim they use marijuana as a religious sacrament to help them commune with God, the prophets and Jesus Christ.

They've even set up their own legal defense fund and the logo for the fund includes a cross and a marijuana leaf.

Unless the law of man conflicts with the law of God, we are to respect and follow man's (governmental) laws. I don't remember anywhere in the Bible where it says to smoke marijuana. They are grasping at straws to validate their marijuana use.

The part that intrigues me the most is that they claim the use of marijuana is a "sacrament" that helps them connect with God. Last time I checked, "sacraments" involved the Word of God coupled with a visible element. As Theresa said, where does the Word say to use marijuana? I always find astounding the ignorance of the Word that is taught and believed by those who are in faith alone. Romans 13 is always first upon the lips of you who idly stand by while the evil of this world goes on marching forward as you piously beat the drums of war and the destruction of the family. Hemp is a crop. The Word refers consistently to this crop as KNH throughout the Hebrew and Aramaic. EL refers to the Lord.

Hemp is not identical with marijuana. Hemp is an industrial crop which does not carry sufficient doses of THC to get one high.

The hemp crop in the United States is illegal to grow and was outlawed for economic purposes by the 'rulers'. Research on this subject is readily available www.jackherer.com the author of the Emporer Wears No Clothes. The hemp crop of the northern climes does contain THC in lower concentrations. The hemp crop in Biblical times that Pharoah dreamed about and Joseph interpreted contained higher THC concentrations. The THC in the hemp is a protection mechanism for the plant from the UVB radiation of the sun. Hence, in the climbs closer to the equater in higher concentrations upon the KNH plant.

As to the first paragraph not have anything to do with the topic on hand, I disagree. As an ordained priest, I understand what causes men to be blind to the things of the Lord. Idol worship is the primary leading cause of blindness. I have been in debates for years with religionists regarding the importance and relevance of KNH in the Word and have consistently found them to be lacking in any love of truth. What I have consistently found among those who claim that we are bound to the rulers of this world is their reliance upon Romans 13 and their love of the idol worship ceremony engaged in by the children in public schools throughout this land. Idol worship holds a powerful force upon the soul to block the Divine Truth of the Word of God from entering. As someone who claims to be Christian (religion of the Anointed Ones) your ability to deny the Word of God is meaningful. I can identify a deeper hidden cause. This cause I have consistently found to be based upon the idol worship in the schools and churches throughout this country. Most Protestant Churches place the American flag with the golden eagle idol upon the right hand of their pulpit. And I venture, so does yours.

The Song of Hannah is very deep in mystical significance and prophetic. At the time, that she made this utterance, Samuel was a child and no king had been 'anointed'. Samuel's fathers name is ELKNH. This is the mystery name for God in blessing through Melchezedek in Genesis, "Blessed by the most high God (EL) possessor (KNH) of heaven and earth." And Abram said to the king of Sodom,"I have lifted up my hand unto the Lord, the most high God (EL) the possessor (KNH) of heaven and earth." 14: 19, 22. This mystery name for the Lord God is holy as is His name today, Jesus the Anointed One.

The discovery in the "Cave of John the Baptist" leaves no doubt why the chief priests called the baptizer a devil.
The chief priests in His day said to Pilate in John, "Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am the King of the Jews. Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written. 19:21,22.

History is mearly repeating itself. The priests hated Him for being the Anointed One and so do your hypocritical anti-anointed preachers, today. Jesus is the Anointed literally with all of the holy oil of Moses. And you can put that in your pipe and smoke it. Oh and by the way, during Lent it is the practice of the Universal Orthodox to fast and pray abstaining from just about everything! So, while you are smoking on that. I won't be smoking at all.

You seem also to believe that because a series of consonants appear in the Hebrew Bible, that must mean that the equivalent consonants of English assigned to anything must make it a sacrament. And you claim to be educated? Unless, sir, you are specifically worshipping this plant AS God, you are twisting "possessor" all out of context.

(And if you ARE worshipping this plant as God, you've got bigger problems than getting the munchies after services.)

Why do you have to be in an altered state of mind to commune and worship God? Why didn't God just make us in the altered state in the first place? The danger of potheads driving around causing accidents is a figment of your television addled blown away mind. There are studies available for those with any love of truth who want to become educated that prove potheads are safer drivers than the norm. I attend Oriental Orthodox Church services that adhere to the traditions of the Church Fathers and the writings of Paul. All Orthodox and Catholic Churches use incense. In the Oriental Orthodox the use is rather extreme and does affect brain activity and this is a known biological fact. I liken the affect as to ease growing of spiritual roots into the soul upon the troubling or painful hearing of the Word of God. Confronting the Divine presence in a worship setting can be an extremely difficult experience to handle. Those who are in the deeper knowledge of God understand this.

In Matthew, "For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil." 11:18 The baptism of John consisted of a water baptism and then an anointing upon the right foot of the holy oil of Moses that contained enormous concentrations of powerful alkaloids that affected body chemistry. The archeological discovery in the "Cave of John the Baptist" leaves absolutely no doubt in the mind of an objective reader what was occurring then. This anointing oil was reserved for the priests, prophets and kings. John here was being accused of an act of the profane but is defended by Jesus the Anointed One.

All Christians (the religion of the anointed Ones) are required by Canon Law to be confirmed into the faith through the use of Chrism. This Chrism is required to be made according to the recipe in Exodus 30:23. All of Christendom with the apparent exception of the Ethiopian Orthodox has changed this holy recipe. The Green Earth Ministers are attempting to do you a service and enlighten your darkened golden eagle idol worshipping television addled minds. I appreciate you stopping by and defending your religious practices. However, they quite simply contradict the clear teachings of scripture.

You've put your doctrinal emphasis on the wrong thing.

People are not saved, or taken to a 'higher spiritual' knowledge through the use of pot, chism or any other substance. You've turned your use of 'herbs' into a religious work, and a requirement of the law that has to be fulfilled before a person can truly be a Christian. Worst of all you base these conclusions on twisted texts and bad archaeology.

The center and substance of the Christian faith is Jesus Christ and his work on the cross.

You've turned 'Chism' use into a law that must be observed in order to be a true Christian. I hope that you are also requiring ALL of the clear regulations of the Mosaic law to be observed including circumcision, passover feasts, new moon celebrations etc. because a curse rests on those who are requiring works of the law in order to be saved.

Gal 5:4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

So here's the bottom line, you can go ahead and trust in 'pot use' to save you. As for me, I am putting ALL of my faith in Jesus Christ and his work on the cross done for me.

I think everyones trying too hard to quote biblical text, which makes me glad I haven't read it, though i will and that won't change the fact that:
A) our most governments are decided by man not god, Georgia Bush (intentional misspelling look it up) is not King Solomon.
B) Every thing and plant was made for a reason, the opium poppy makes morphine which saved my life literally, and there is speculation about marijuana's medical value because unbiased studies have not been conducted because of drug czar tactics, government scare tactic, ect. First of all Marijuana is the Mexican word for Cannabis. Cannabis and Hemp are the same thing. The reason the strain of cannabis we call Hemp has less THC is because scientist have genetically altered a strain of Cannabis that has a vary little amount of THC. If you see pictures it looks different because its has much more stem and few if any buds.

Just recently scientist have discovered that when you inject CBD(one of many chemicals found in Cannabis) into a cancers tumor's they shrinks and the cancer stops from spreading.

I've looked at all 4 gospel accounts of John the Baptist, and none of them say he annointed anybody with any kind of oil, canabis or otherwise. Romans 13 is used and twist worse than these guy's twisting on the bible. One should also know you have to by the original greek versions and not just the concordance. When God gave every herb that bears seed He was not giving the ok to smoke things that alter the mind and body. If Scripture commands that we are not to be drunk with wine but filled with the Holy Spirit (and drunkenness alters the mind of a person) then the same goes for getting high from smoking pot or any other sort of drug. It's truly sad that some of you will go so far as to twist Scripture to your own devices when you get caught doing wrong. However, Scripture declares that there will be people like you who will "wrest the word" to your own "destruction." When you stand before God one day and give an account of having misinterpreted His word for your own fleshly desires, He will call you liars and say, "Depart from me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you." It's time for you to believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, repent, and ask for forgiveness, to have your soul saved and changed, regenerated and born again. Until then you will not understand the truth.
