Now you can tell the world that Jesus is in your heart with a message written on your ankles.
The video below is from Rick Warren's appearance on Comedy Central's Colbert Report. This was an incredible opportunity for Pastor Warren to share the gospel with literally millions of non-Christian viewers. Tragically, Pastor Warren didn't give them the Biblical Gospel. He gave them a different 'gospel'. This just so happened to be the same 'gospel' that Pastor Warren presented at the 2006 TED Talks. For a complete doctrinal evaluation of this other 'gospel' please read this article.
Pastor Warren correctly teaches that the Great commandment tells us to 'Love our neighbors as ourselves." But, if we truly love our neighbors then wouldn't we tell them the true Biblical Gospel? Sadly, Rick Warren didn't tell the Comedy Central audience the truth.
HT: Watcher's Lamp
The In Souls website offers you the ability to purchase scripture verse shoe inserts. We really wish this was a joke because sadly there are Christians who are foolish enough to buy this stuff.
Sadly, this video from Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church shows what happens when a church turns God's Law into the "gospel". It shows that the only thing they have to offer the world is God's wrath and judgement. But that is not 'Good News'. That is bad news and the Church has not been called to ONLY proclaim God's Law. The Chruch has been called to also proclaim the Good News that Christ Died for ALL of our Sins and is offering us a full and complete pardon which He won for us on the cross.
Heath Ledger's family needs the love of Jesus Christ right now instead of the judgement and threats that Wesboro Baptist church is spewing.
You do not have to agree with the movies that he made or even believe that he was saved. That is not the issue. As Christians, we should never delight or rejoice when any person dies especially a person who may not have repented of their sins, trusted in Christ and received His forgiveness and mercy. Westboro's attempts to draw attention to their legalistic gospel of works and wrath must be countered with the Biblical Gospel of Christ's love, forgiveness and mercy that is offered to all sinners, even sinners as terrible as me and you.
Compare these verses to the message offered by Fred Phelps in the video below.
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.
Romans 5:6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
1 Corinthians 15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
When you compare the Biblical Gospel to Fred Phelps' "gospel" it becomes clear that he is teaching a different 'gospel'. He's traded the preaching of 'Christ Crucified for Sinners' for preaching 'Gays BBQ'd for Eternity'. The irony here is that by preaching 'another gospel', a 'gospel' of wrath, hate and self-righteousness, Phelps is actually sending the members of his church to hell. Scripture gives this ominous word of warning to those who in their self-righteousness believe that they are saving themselves through their keeping of the law:
Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be Eternally Condemned.
Galatians 5:4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
Therefore, We'd like to ask you to pray AND find a way to combat this hate by sending messages that share Christ's love with Heath Ledger's family and loved ones. If we don't take a stand against this type of hate done in the name of Christ then we will become silent accomplices to Westboro's gross and inhuman sin.

Is 'Great Sex' the real hallmark of a Godly Marriage? And are Christians really 'in the dark' when it comes to sex? How difficult can this be?
Seriously, why should a CHURCH be teaching people how to have 'Great Sex'? Pastors are not trained sex therapists. Plus, doesn't the church have more important things to be doing than teaching people how to have a better sex life?
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
It's not as if being 'great in the sack' is one of the ways that you can identify Jesus' disciples, or is it?
President Bush thinks we all worship the same god.
The President has said this on more than one occasion.
"Well, first of all, I believe in an almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That's what I believe. I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace." (Online Source)
"I have spoken clearly about my belief that -- I pray to the same God as a Muslim prays; that the freedom agenda is really aimed at liberating people, and that the hope is, is that there will be an active, real Palestinian state, so people can realize their dreams." (Online Source)
"And the best way to achieve better understanding in the world is for folks just to get together, and get to understand that we share the same God, and we share the same aspirations for children and for our futures." (Online Source)
Many times people ask us, "What is the world coming too?" This button from CafePress would be our answer to that question and prominent "Christian" leaders are the ones leading us down that path. Some Emergent Church leaders teach Universalism, the doctrine that everybody is already saved regardless of which god they worship.
Now that the Jedi Religion has its own church. Post-Modern Emergents are probably already looking for a way to have an interfaith 'conversation' with members of this new cutting-edge religion. Luckily, some young enterprising and internet saavy marketeers have already created Jedi Jesus t-shirts. These t-shirts ought to be able to pave the way for Christians to begin exploring 'force spirituality' in a post-protestant, post-evangelical context. (We also would be willing to wager a few dollars that some of the Purpose-Driven pastors out there are already concocting seeker-sensitive services based on the Star Wars movies and Jedi 'force spirituality'.)
The Jedi Religion is now available in our galaxy. At least that is what the BBC is reporting. Since post-modern culture just loves to make up their own concepts of religion and spirituality, the creation of a Jedi Church should come as no surprise to anyone. What's really interesting is that if you read the Jedi Church's doctrinal statement, it doesn't sound much different than what Emergents like McLaren and Pagitt teach.
The Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak, Texas recently did a sermon series entitled 'Real Life' and based it on the reality T.V. shows, Fear Factor, Dancing With the Stars, The Amazing Race and the Biggest Loser. We've put the promo video for the Fear Factor sermon here in our museum because it is another excellent example of the man-centered Christless Christianity that is sweeping through the American church in the name of being Purpose Driven, seeker sensitive and culturally relevant.
The line to listen for in this video is when Pastor Scott Wilson says:
"You were born with purpose everybody. I want you to know that. You we’re born with a God-sized dream for your life. The Bible says in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10, “that you are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which he prepared you in advance to do.” You need to know that because some of you today may think “Man, I don’t have a dream. I don’t have a vision. There’s nothing big that God has for me.” I just want you to know there is. And probably the reason that your feeling that there isn’t is because you’re living in real life. And real life problems or real life issues or real life circumstances seem to weigh down the God-sized dreams and purposes he meant for us to have. We’re going to talk about that in this series. And I want you to know that you are awesome and God made you for greatness and we want to help you overcome your fear and the stumbling blocks and the things of life that keep holding you back."
Sorry but this is not Biblical Christianity and this is not the Biblical doctrine of sanctification. Instead, this is a man-centered pop-psychology self-help infomercial gospel that pastor Wilson is peddling and he learned this 'other gospel' from men like Rick Warren and Robert Schuller (Warren's Mentor).
We are praying for pastor Scott Wilson and The Oaks Fellowship. We pray that God would open their eyes and bring them to repentance and that they would turn from these man-centered pop-psychology messages and instead rightly handle and preach the Word of God. After all, we cannot say that we are truly loving our neighbors if we're not telling them the truth about what God's Word actually teaches.
1Cor. 2:1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
3. Christless Christianity, by Michael Horton
4. Preaching Christ from All the Scriptures, by Dennis Johnson
This one is an enigma. Should we focus on the dove or the assault rifle? Jesus sure looks like he's got an itchy trigger finger.
Thanks to this t-shirt we can now pretend that Jesus is like a cheap watered down American beer. Pass one to a friend and say, "His Blood's For You."
Caring for your pearly whites can now help you enter the pearly gates.
Apparently the ONLY thing that you need to turn your ordinary toothbrush into a "Christian" toothbrush is to add a reference to a Bible verse to it. You don't even need to quote the actual verse.
The most interesting part of this is that the creator of these toothbrushes claims that the Lord told him to do the same thing with toilet paper. (we're not making that up) Here's the quote from their website:
"Pastor Larry Phillips wanted a way for people in their everyday life to keep the Lord in their thoughts. One night in his dreams, the good Lord answered this question for him. Toothbrushes, hairbrushes, toilet tissue, paper towels, etc., with a scripture chapter and verse number imprinted on the item, reminds a person to read the verse in the Bible"
So we can expect an new exhibit here in our museum on "Christian" toilet paper. That will be toilet paper with scripture references printed on it. (words fail us)
Finally there is a Christian toy manufacturer that is brave enough to save Christian children from the pagan influences of secular and worldly toys. Below we have a prime example of this in the new "Faith Works Tool Set". We've put the Faith Works Tool Set next to the standard pagan tool set that sells at Toys R Us so that you can see the stark difference between these two products.
Aren't you blown away by the difference?! Imagine how many children the Faith Works Tool Set will save from becoming pagans!
Here's yet another version of the American Jesus. This Jesus isn't the Jesus of the Bible but who cares? This Jesus is so much cooler than that wimpy guy who was crucified like a common criminal between two robbers. Anyway, shouldn't we be able to make our own personal Jesus? Shouldn't Jesus have to come to us on our terms and in a way that we can relate with and in a way that we're interested in? Biblical Jesus is so boring. Harley Jesus is a Jesus we can relate to.
The word on the street is that the T.V. show Lost has jumped the shark. We understand that there are some diehard fans of the show out there who would disagree with that statement. But, one thing is certain, Lost is not the 'must see' show that it used to be. That being said, any Christian who is trying to be relevant to the world with the t-shirt featured below may as well be wearing a Welcome Back Kotter witness wear t-shirt. Relevance is oh soooo fickle.
Granger's "Pure Sex" marketing methods strike again! This time it is New Life Fellowship in Orange Park, Florida that drank the Pure Sex koolaid by purchasing Granger's sermon series in a box. Like other churches they bought the premium package which includes a media kit and billboard artwork. And this time the media is reporting that some passersby who saw the church's advertisement thought the billboard was for a porn site. (Do you think Jesus is glorified when this happens?)
You can read the rest of the story here.
We featured these 'action figures' in one of our very first exhibits. After giving each of the Almighty Heroes action figures their own exhibit we felt it was time to revisit these little abominations that strive to re-make Jesus in our image.
With the Super Bowl less than 2 weeks away we wonder which team Jesus will be quarterbacking for?
Are you a manufacturer who is having a tough time competing with other better quality products that your competitors are producing? No problem. All you need to do is slap a Bible verse on your inferior product so that Christians will buy them in spades. It also helps if you say things like, "I felt God telling me to make this product" or "The Holy Spirit inspired me to make this." Once you say something like that 97% of all Christians will feel 'led by the spirit' to buy your garbage.
Case and point is the product featured in this exhibit. We've touched it, we've handled it and it is a cheap poorly made product.
Christians need to stop and think for a minute and ask themselves if there is really anything 'spiritually' wrong with the pagan / secular book lights?
It's not as if this book light shines with the light of heaven. Oh and it is practically impossible to replace the bulb on this thing.
ooooooh weeeee that is an ugly tie!
Pretend that this is your daughter in the picture below wearing the featured 'witness wear' t-shirt and that she thinks that by wearing this t-shirt she is going to help convince potential converts to come to church. Would you want your daughter to be engaging in this type of bait and switch evangelism? Before you answer, please notice that your daughter is the bait.
The synergistic Christian Rock Band UP2U has just released their latest album entitled, The Other F-Word.
Here's what one critic wrote about this album:
"www.SHOTGUNREVIEWS.COM - "Calling a spiritual rock record The Other F-Word is definitely marketing genius at work"
Wow! Now it is considered to be a stroke of "marketing genius" when Christians make references to profanity to peddle the gospel.
It used to be that "the fear of God was the beginning of wisdom". Now-a-days we'd have to re-write that to say that the purchase of 'wisdom beads' is the beginning of wisdom'.
In all seriousness this really looks like the Protestant version of a Rosary.
Here's a news story about a minister and his wife who were arrested after they grew a 28 pound marijuana plant in their backyard. They named it the Tree of Life and claim they use marijuana as a religious sacrament to help them commune with God, the prophets and Jesus Christ.
They've even set up their own legal defense fund and the logo for the fund includes a cross and a marijuana leaf.
Apparently members of the Holy Family are now appearing in granite. Many are saying that they see an image of Jesus being crucified on this slab. If true, then this represents a large improvement over previous appearances by Jesus and Mary in foods such a pancakes, tortillas and toasted cheese sandwiches. This miraculous slab is slated to be sold on ebay.
For hours of Biblical excitement we recommend the Ten Plagues Bowling Set. Everyone knows that plagues are 'oh soooo cute' and fun.
Nowadays, any kewl and fun thing that the world is doing can be 'Christianized' by just slapping the word "worship" on it. The video below gives a great example. It's about Hip Hop.Electronica.Dance "Club Worship".
Our favorite line in this video is about learning the role of break dancing in worship. (we did not make that up)
A patron of our museum recently received this in the mail and forwarded it to us. The mailer was from Matthew's Churches and they are sending out "anointed prayer rugs" and promising spiritual blessings for those who fill out their form and mail it back to the church. Not only is this mailer creeeeeepy, it has all the classic signs of a scam.
Wow. Now you can buy t-shirts that speak in tongues. HolyGhostTees is offering spirit wear that is "bright...innovative...and oh so cutting edge. These designer t-shirts combine a clever sense of fashion with a cool spiritual flow. Choose from 9 'ear-catching phrases and 11 'Prophetic inspired colors."
XXXChurch's Pete the Porno Puppet has teamed up with unrepentant porn king Ron Jeremy to give church kids
Christian reasons to stay away from porn. What are the "reasons" this video gives kids to avoid pornography?
Well the video gives two reasons.
1. Because porn king Ron Jeremy made pornography for consenting adults, not children.
2. For Pete's sake.
No scriptures were given. There was no mention of God's law and sin. There was no mention of Jesus.
After watching this video ask yourself, "Do you want the youths at your church learning about pornography from Pete the Porno Puppet and Ron Jeremy, a man that defends and still produces pornography"?
2Cor. 6:14-16 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols?
The folks over at Body Temple Wellness are offering proven results AND a spiritual breakthrough with their weight loss program. Who could pass up a program like this? They claim that it is Faith that wins when it comes to weight loss. Well...what they really mean is that faith plus $149.00 plus $6.95 for shipping and handling is what wins at weight loss. But who really cares about the fine print?
Learn how to Belly Dance at North Wood Christian Church in Indianapolis? Sure, why not? Nothing is sacred anymore and if they incorporate Belly Dancing into their worship services we're sure that it will be a 'relevant' way to get some of the men of indianapolis into church.
This Northern European interpretation of Joseph is sure to warm the hearts of white supremacists the world over.
Imagine showing up to church next sunday and finding a 30 foot high erect phallus on top of your church or in the church parking lot announcing a sermon series on Pornography. "Absurd and ridiculous", you say. "No Christian Church or Ministry would ever resort to something as shameful as a giant phallus", you say. Sadly, you'd be wrong. (Warning: Explicit Link)
According to Wally's Website:
Mike and Craig of XXXchurch dreamed up the idea of Wally one afternoon in sunny southern California. XXXchurch exists to bring awareness, openness, accountability and recovery to the church, society and individuals in the issues of pornography and to begin to provide solutions through non-judgmental and creative means. XXXchurch is here to make you think, react and to decide where you stand on the issues of porn. We're not here to sling mud, but to shove the envelope and try and do some good.
Call us old fashioned but the church doesn't need marketing gimmicks in the form of a giant inflatable phallus to fight porn. The church needs to get back to preaching God's Word and the message of Christ Crucified for Sinners.
We expect that this exhibit will be controversial but heresy and false teaching in the Church is not limited to the Purpose Driven crowd and the Emergent Church. False teaching can arise in any church that put's personal revelation, dreams and visions on par with scripture. This is the case with the "Highway of Holiness" movement.
The people in this movement are not correctly handling God's word. The entire premise of this movement is based upon a bad and false interpretation of Isaiah 35:8 that came about as a result of a "personal revelation". But we need to ask ourselves if the Holy Spirit would ever twist God's word? Answer: Never!
This movement resembles the exact type of nonsense we see in the Catholic Church with those who claim to see visions of Mary. These 'visions' are distractions that turn our attention away from Christ. Sadly, that is exactly what is happening here because the center of our faith and message is not "holiness" it is Christ and Him Crucified for Sinners. Regardless of their good intentions, this 'Highway of Holiness' movement has all the earmarks of a false revival that is built on a faulty reading of God's word, emotionalism, false visions and legalism rather than on Christ.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the video that you are about to see was the opener for a service at Buckhead Church. The song that the 'ministers' of Buckhead chose to open their "church service" is called "Ladies & Gentlemen" by the secular band Saliva. Click Here to See just how "Christian" the band Saliva is. Also, here is a sample of the lyrics for this song.
Ladies and gentlemen please
Would you bring your attention to me?
For a feast for your eyes to see
An explosion of catastrophe
Like nothing you’ve ever seen before
Watch closely as I open this door
Your jaws will be on the floor
After this you’ll be begging for more
Welcome to the show
Please come inside
Ladies and gentlemen
Do you want it?
Do you need it?
Let me hear it
Ladies and gentlemen
Ladies and gentlemen good evening
You’ve seen that seeing is believing
Your ears and your eyes will be bleeding
Please check to see if you’re still breathing
Why are these 'pastors' bringing this garbage INTO the church? This doesn't glorify or exalt Jesus Christ.
More importantly, Pastor Jeff Henderson preached an 'evangelistic' sermon after this performance that boiled down to the statement that "Jesus came for the real you, not the fake you." Apparently, Jesus came to earth to solve the problem of 'inauthenticity'. Henderson's solution to this 'problem' is synergism. Think about it. His solution makes your salvation based upon you, your decision and your actions. Ironically, after listening to the sermon 3 times, we're still not sure what Pastor Henderson was teaching we are being saved from.
Here is the creator of G.I. Joe's interpretation of Deborah the Warrior. This chick sure does know how to pick a shield that matches her shoes. She must have the spiritual gift of accessorizing.
When ordinary water isn't enough.
