I believe Osteen is just loving all of this attention. If so, his pride will smack him in the face one day. He is leading people directly to hell.

Would Joel Osteen be arrested for his teaching if he lived in the first century? I think not. I have heard him brag about not preaching the need for repentance of sin, the Cross, or the need for suffering in the Christian life. I have heard him on Larry King refuse to say Jesus is the only way to the Father, then apologize for it on his web site, and then shortly later repeat the exact same error on The View. The answers that he gives are not without forethought. He knows exactly what he is doing. This man is a moral coward and a false teacher. Those aren't my words. Simply read the Bible. People used to die for Christianity. Osteen, and others like him, have turned it into a big business with no accountability to God. And for those who think that to say these things is, "judging," I'm sorry to say that you have already been taken in by the likes of Osteen. You are already on the same page as Joel Osteen, thinking that it is wrong to speak the Truth, or to stand for Truth, and right to sit on the fence. It has always been humorous to hear people condemn others for, "judging" -- for THEY are judging the moment they condemn others for judging! The fact is, Truth will always judge because it is the light that exposes all for what it is. That is why they killed Christ and the apostles -- they spoke the Truth. They didn't tell people how to, "Become a Better You," or how to have, "Your Best Life Now." They taught them that they needed to LOSE their lives in order to find them in Christ.

the problem we have is stated by dave "simply read the Bible" be a Berean people!!!

if i would "get with it" and read others versions of the bible i might see that all scripture is given by inspiration of men and is profitable for itching ears, for your best life now ,for becoming a better you, for instruction in compromise, so that the man will be loved by the world and be throughly furnished not to be able to take a stand for JESUS when needed.

So, why don't we pray for Mr. Osteen. That's the one thing we can do for him.

I'll be the first to volunteer.

I'll pray that God will give him wisdom about what to say within his church and on national television and such. That he will not be afraid to preach the truth to the world and if he may not be certain what that truth is, that it would be revealed to him. That God's will would be truly done in his life.

Deseret book is a mormon book chain, now selling his book, and well Mr. Osteen is letting the bottom line be his guide, Money, fame, and the love of man. Even the mormons are wondering whats up, they know what they believe.
If Joel became a mormon, and frankly I dont think they can afford to bring him on the team, will his followers go with him?

Merry - Yes. I stand in agreement with you, if it applies to him. Either way, we should all be praying for him - be it for his backbone, or his salvation.

I'm not sure he's an actual Christian, or if he's a Matthew 7 "christian".

Jesus said He was the only way to the Father.

He also said if we didn't confess Him before men, He would not own us before God.

Osteen is very limp, soft, and in need of a spiritual Viagra in that area. He will NOT say outright that Jesus is the only way to be saved... at least that I've seen of him when he's confronted about the subject. He won't talk about there being a -real- Jesus. Not satan's brother, but Yeshua - God's son. This is THE foundation of Christianity. If you don't have that, you have nothing but a non-stop straight to Hell.

Osteen is too much of a pansy for me. I like John Hagee. Give me some loud guy yelling fire & brimstone over some wuss pidge-podging all over the place, anyday.
