The Gay & Lesbian Bible?
What do you do if you are unrepentantly engaging in the sin of homosexuality but you want to be Christian? Simple, write your own Bible that carefully removes any mention that homosexuality is a sin.
Here what the website for the NEW Gay & Lesbian Bible says:
"The New Testament in the original Greek does not speak against Gay, Lesbian, Bi or Transgender people. Yes, many Christians believe it does, but then again many people believe there were three wise men who visited Jesus as a baby and gave him three gifts...."The Gay and Lesbian Study Bible, translated from the Greek by Dr Ann Nyland, is a timely contribution to the spiritual needs of gay and lesbian followers of Christ. Dr Nyland's close examination of the source materials shows beyond doubt that there is no textual basis in the Bible for the exclusion of same sex relations. The Gay and Lesbian Study Bible will give heart to many who feel that sexual orientation is irrelevant to spiritual communion..."

Awful. Full of lies and deceit. Shame on whoever came up with this. Would you make a Bible directed towards murderers and cut out the verses about not murdering? I almost expected to see this posted under "satire" and was sad to see that it wasn't . . . Oh dear.

Perhaps the authors of this Gay & Lesbian Bible would do well to remember Galatians 1:6-7 & 9 :
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ....As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

Ironicaly, the free chapter they provide as a sample is Jude 1, and the authors are described right there!
For certain people have crept in unnoticed, people whose judgment was written
down beforehand a long time ago. They commit sacrilege, and they use God’s
favor as a license to commit vice. They disown our only Master and Lord, Jesus
the Anointed One.

When are they printing the gay Old Testament, or does that present too many problems for them?
Can we refer to this as the HIV translation? ;)

It's interesting that these same people will use the Bible to say that David and Jonathan were homosexuals or to preach against war or capital punishment.

Coming next is the Pedophile Bible - they are taking out the verse "Spare the rod and spoil the child"

The Bible doesn't say anything about shoving a nail in my eye either, but I'm NOT going to do it! Do sinners realize the Bible is not a legal document that you can dance around finding loop holes to live however you wish? We live by the implications and applications of scripture--which is why we can bodly say that homosexuality is sin. Nuff said!

Where are they getting that homosexuals are not condemned in the NT?
1 Corithians 6:9 "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals"
ἀρσενοκοίτης is the word here. It means "one who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual" BLB
in AV it is abuser of one's self with mankind or defile one's self with mankind - implication is homosexuality.
1 Timothy 1:10 "and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching"
ἀρσενοκοίτης (är-se-no-koi'-tās) STRONGS G733
What in the world are these people doing???? I know the answer, that's just a rhetorical statement.
People will do anything to make their sin a good thing.
Well we all know what Jesus said about addition:
"I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book." ~Revelation 22:18,19
and in the OT
"You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you." ~ Deuteronomy 4:2
It is safe to assume in this regard that God is talking about the entirety of His Word - His commands.
No this "Bible" is nothing but a lie from Satan who says "God never said you will die"

So now we have it, homosexual 'Christians' will get a cult of their own with a bible of their own...just like the Jehovah's Witnesses.

There already is a very real cult that not only believes that homosexuality is not condemned, but superior. They think that gays and lesbians are the "eunuchs" spoken about by Jesus, and they discredit Paul's judgment of homosexuals because he is just a man - this cult tells its followers to only follow the words of Jesus. They believe that Jesus may have been homosexual, and thus His crucifixion was more a gay-bashing than anything else. It's enough for display in the museum I think. Oh, and they also rely heavily on Gnostic gospels... I forgot about that part.

What is so problematic for those of us who feel we're defending the "orthodox" position, is that Dr. Nyland is asserting that, based on her authority as a Greek Scholar (classical and koine) who has analyzed previously unavailable papyri, roughly 15% of the terms used in the NT were unknown at the time of their translation and their rendering in all of the generally accepted translations is nothing more than a "mere guess" on the translators' part. Moreover, she asserts that the gender-renderings have been a tool in a systematic plot to suppress women over the centuries. On top of the gender equality issue, she adds the "gay rights" and "gay" Christian issues to boot. She's making these claims on scholastic grounds - ones where ordinary mortals cannot go, and sadly, in a setting (academia I mean) where orthodoxy as a concept is not held in high esteem in the first place. God, please help us!

It's amazing how quickly people judge without actually reading the content.
This is not an author who is rewriting the Bible, it is instead an author who is studying and examining it. No matter what your views are, unless you analyze the original meanings of these words, how are you able to judge? Are you merely looking at what you have been taught? Why not go beyond what you think you know? Why not study the origin of "homosexual" and then try to prove your point. You may be surprised to learn that homosexual was not even a word in the Greek language. That the original text uses words such as malakoi (never defined, though historically used to describe a man forcing, i.e. raping, a much younger boy), and translators used the word homosexual in its place. In fact, the NIV version of the Bible, one of the most conservative translations, is one of the very few versions that still uses homosexual in 1 Corinthians. Considering that homosexual relationships today do not consist of an older man FORCING a younger boy sleep with him, can you really tell me that modern homosexuality is what Paul is talking about?
Maybe, just maybe, before you judge, do some homework.

Jesus said nothing, not one word, about homosexuals. For those of you who insist that this does not matter, that the Bible is somehow clear elsewhere about the evilness of homosexuality, here are some questions.
Why didn’t Jesus say that He was abolishing all the rules in the Old Testament EXCEPT the rule against homosexual intercourse?
Why didn’t He distinguish between His forgiving the woman brought to him in adultery ( ‘Let him who is without sin cast the first stone’ ) and His wanting to continue to hold homosexuality against people?
Why didn’t He say anything about how homosexual marriage would defile the sanctity of the relationship of man and woman?
Why didn’t He say anything?
Did He just keep forgetting to mention it?
If homosexuality truly is a sin worthy of eternal damnation, as some believe it is, then why didn't Jesus discuss it? He certainly preached at length concerning every other sin listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and Timothy 1:9-10. Why would He leave this one out?
Of course, there are apparent criticisms of homosexuality in the Bible.
Genesis 19 describes the destruction of Sodom, which has been attributed to the homosexuality of its citizens; the men may have wanted to rape the (male) angels. Actually, the text at this point is ambiguous; the original Hebrew word sometimes referred to sexual activity although it usually meant "to know" in a literal sense. But a careful reading of Genesis and Ezekiel reveals that inhospitality, pride, idol worship, and lack of consideration for the poor were their prime sins. If homosexuality was involved, it was obviously not consensual sexual activity; it was rape. So we can safely conclude that Sodom was destroyed because of the sins of its citizens which included their habit of raping visitors. Judges 19 seems to be a duplicate of the Genesis story.
Leviticus 18:22 & 20:13 appears to condemn male homosexual behavior, but in fact only refers to temple prostitution. Even if it did refer to lesbian and gay relationships, it would not be applicable to Christians today, any more than are the other 613 laws which make up the Jewish Holiness Code. It is less than genuine for a Christian teleminister or theologian to imply that these verses are still valid for the beliefs and conduct of Christians, while stating that the remaining laws of the Holiness Code are not applicable.
Deuteronomy 23:17, I Kings 14:24 and 15:12 are mistranslated in some versions of the Bible as referring to homosexual behavior. "Temple prostitute" would be an accurate translation.
The Scriptures condemn homosexual rape and temple prostitution, but do not disapprove of gay and lesbian relationships. Condemnations of homosexuality based on verses from the Bible are misinterpretations.

I am a christian first and foremost , then any revelence to my gender, age, race, etc would be as it were, not the dominating factor of who Christ redeemed me now to be. He tells us that "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, behold the OLD has passed away, all things have become NEW", He also tells us in another place you cannot put new wine in old wineskins. In my opinion, it is neither homophobic or ignorant to believe ,that God did not send His Son to be, tortured in one of the most painfully, medically known methods known to man, and to allow our sins to be taken into His body, so that I can freely continue living according to my former nature, whatever that may have been. What if I was a murderer? a prostitute? a theif? a fornicator? What is a fornicator by the way? The definition is not according to our interpretation. I visited a "gay christian website" and there was reference made towards Jerry falwell not admitting blacks to his church at one time, I agree that was wrong but lets not muddle biblical errors as a way to justify all other errors.Even if the bible does not to some people's interpretaion clearly define homosexuality as a sin, it clearly defines fornication and I believe that covers all human gender. It clearly defines why God created "woman" that truth addresses all genders. It clearly defines that God instructed them to be fruitful and multiply and that addresses all genders, God created them diffrently physically so that when they came together they would carry out His plan which was to increase "His" family. God is not confused, there is no Basis in scripture to contradict God's plan in the beginning. I would like to hear from others what their thoughts are in regards to homosexuality> is it derived out of God's love or is it inception derived from selfish love and love for our bodies, our passions, our attractions.
