One Minute Bible
Okay God...here's the deal. I'm a busy person. I've got emails to read, friends to instant message and hours of shows on my Tivo that I need to catch up on. But, I am willing to set aside exactly 60 seconds of each day to read your word. I think that's fair.
So, If you have something you'd like to say to me then you'd better get right to the point. I don't want to have to read any thees, thous or begats. So give it to me straight and give it to me quick. Do you think you can handle that God?

Well I have a "Read-the-bible-in-a-year Bible(Daily Walk Bible), its VERY doable, it is certainly not one minute that you spend reading God's Word and anywho if Jesus could spend an entire night praying I'm sure we can take some time out of our "busy" lives and dedicate at least half an hour to our wonderful, patient, merciful God who deserves only the best. That includes the best of our time. Lord knows I struggle sometimes being a Med Student but it is more than doable. I don't think we should be accomodating ourselves so much. Aren't we supposed to have Discipline or develop discipline?

As a stay-at-home mom, I do my best to make sure I set aside the first productive part of my day to read two or three chapters of the Bible. (It's the first time I've read it where it actually MEANT something, to be honest.)
I also learned that I could download a KJV Bible from Project Gutenberg, so I would sit and read that while nursing my baby several times a night.
My husband tries to read it during his lunch break. I pack a printout of the chapters he wants with his lunch.
You'd be surprised where you can sneak it in, if only you're willing.

Squeeze a minute of bible reading in? Wow. Just wow. The God I know demands the first fruits of our labor. Demands that we put Him first & foremost in our life. Not a mere side-trip when we have some free time.

As a Christian, we should desire to spend more than 60 seconds of our day with God by reading our Bible. We should also set aside time for prayer and other spiritual disciplines. Occasionally, too, we should put down our Bibles and do good for those around us.
I'm being a bit sarcastic, but--in all fairness to the editors of the One-Minute Bible--there are many not-yet-followers of Jesus who might just give up a minute a day to read from God's Word (they wouldn't give a second thought to anything more substantial). As a youth worker, I find that a lot of non-Christian, un-churched youth are seeking after truth and wanting to learn more about our God. If this is one way to bring them closer to Him, then by all means, use it.
