Clown-Led Worship
McClure United Church in Edmonton, Canada is the latest church to join the ranks of those churches that have offered 'Clown-Led Worship'. Their service was sooooo unique and sooooo meaningful that it was covered by their local newspaper.
Whatever happened to reverence in the house of God?
Apparently that is long gone. It has been replaced with circus acts.
It makes us wonder. If Jesus were to show up to one of these services would he drive these clowns out with a whip? We think that Jesus may have to use another implement. If he used a whip people might mistake him for a lion tamer and think he was part of the act.
That old popular adage applies here, "You may feel like your pastor is a clown. But it is best if he doesn't dress up like one and confirm your fears."
Here are some more pictures documenting the 'low lights' from other churches that have gone 'clown'.

You can watch videos of the church leader justifying the use of clowns to his congregation. Shameful. Utterly shameful.

It's been obvious to me for some time that the Lutherans (ELCA) have really lost their way in the Christian walk. This just confirms my suspicions.

Looking at these pictures and the image they project simply tells me how the truth is being represented here with great accuracy according to the scriptures. This is spot on and cannot fault what is taking place to be in line with biblical principles. Ah, but which ones? 2 Timothy 4: 3-4. The Apostle Paul warns us right here, maybe with tears, with these words:- "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" False teachers teaching false doctrines is all around us. Lord help. Please.

Hmm... I sometimes do gospel magic (illusion) presentations in churches. Never during the service though.
But I don't dress as a clown.
