Shaking it for Jesus - Saddleback Style
This is a video of a Saddleback Worship Concert.
There are teenage girls doing dance moves that include Pelvic Thrusts.
Is this really worship to the one true God of the Bible or is this worship to one of those pagan sex gods? You be the judge?
Here is one frame from the video of teenage girls 'worshiping' God.

Say hello to the Future of Charismania, this will look like an old fashion church service 10 years from now. God have Mercy on us.

I would not be thrilled to see this in my own church. Nevertheless, I have to quibble with you on one point. I'm a semi-professional dancer, and those were not pelvic thrusts, actually. Nor did I think the dance was overtly sexual. However, it's out of place in a worship context. Save it for the gridiron at halftime.

Im not old school. Im 18! Ive heard the Kirk Franklin version of this song. I own it. But there are things that 1 must realize that are not "wise" in a sense. Dance is ok in individual worship but 1 must be wise. It seems that this church is on the liberal side. Just use ur judgment and ull find out if u did the right thing on the day of Judgment. Take care.

Of course this is worship of Jesus Christ, The Son Of God.
Stop being so judgemental. Let God be magnified.

All I could concentrate on was the hottie in the tight olive drab shirt. Now what was that verse about not causing a stumbling block ....or whatever?

I am a dance educator and I teach dance at a Baptist fine arts school and we occassionally have dance as a worship element. The dance in this video, as one comment already addressed, are not hip thrusts. Hip thrusts are vulgar and meant to be suggestive, which is not what was done. The pelvic isolations, used in the spanish dancing element of the performance are exactly that-- Hip isolations...nothing sexual. The hips move forward, back, or side to side. It is sad to see that many people cannot celebrate dance as a form of worship. Some people seem to only see the human body that God created as somehting sexual. This is hip-hop dance, which is honestly more controversial than lyrical or ballet performances within a church, but nonetheless, if dance can reach our youth and get them excited about our Lord, I think it's great.

I would just like to ask the ones that defend this activity two things. First, where in the New Testament did the apostles dance in this way? Secondly, where in the New Testament did any of them write that anyone should do such a dance?

rick warren and richard abanes and the other leaders at Saddleback should be ashamed of themselves for this

I will not judge the hearts performing but I find it interesting that no one mentions David dancing before the Lord and did so only with a loin cloth on. Yes that was in the OT but you can't dismiss it just because that act of worship was not in the NT.

David's dance is always mentioned in defence of this kind of thing.
Let me ask you this: Would David have danced this way in the temple, the place of worship? How about in the Holy of Holies? As I remember, he was outside.
What would have happened if he was with teenaged girls dancing like the girls above? What if it was only girls dancing in the same way as in this video?
